The Onsen; Saturday Afternoon [11/09].
Day Two had been quite a bit more eventful than Day One in Shunsui's absrud little onsen notion, so he was interested to see what Day Three would bring him, other than perhaps a few questioning looks from the staff that had realized he had, indeed, been there three days in a row. But now he had something to look forward to on Day Four, when those looks were likely to get even a little more baffled and maybe even a little concerned.
It was, however, at this point, lowering himself into the water again and getting comfortable with his sake jug and its little cups close at hand, that he realized he didn't actually know when Octavia-chan's appointment for her tattoo even was. For all he knew, he could be doing this for a while. But, as far as Big Stupid Gestures went, this was incredibly simple and effortless, which made it the best kind of Big Stupid Gesture, as far as he was concerned.
Now, if only he could think of a situation where he could make the promise to just do nothing but sleep for a week...
Ahh, but a man could dream! And this man was likely to be doing just that in a short while after getting wonderfully comfortable and relaxed.
And he never did bother messaging Apu-san back. If whatever it was at the store was still an issue, Janet-chan seemed a very capable girl, it would be good for her to have the experience...

He was not at all surprised to see Shunsui already there. And not just because radio had reported him here the last two days in a row.
"Hey man," he greeted. "You look . . . extremely comfortable."
no subject
"I should hope so ♥," he eventually drawled. "That's the whole point ♥. And I have had far too much practice at this to bring anything but extremely comfortable' to the table ♥."

Granted, he did have an occasion for his particular diligence in this pursuit this week, but, well...

Shunsui was pretty clearly not 'most people', though.

Honestly, that explaination probably made much more sense than the real reason.
Shunsui finally moved to sip from his cup, then took a moment to refill it, and then tilted both his head and the jug Duke's way.
"A little sake with your soak, Duke ♥?"

And after he took his sip, he let out a small, grateful sigh before sinking just a little bit lower into the water and just savoring the very nice moment before continuing.
"And though I don't see what my mortal state has to do with the matter," he drawled, before his grin gained a certain quirk of pride, "you are not wrong on any of those accounts ♥. Do you know much Japanese, Duke-san?"
Shunsui usually didn't' care to be so formal, but it amused him in this context at least.

Who was probably now stuck with the honorific; it was starting to grow on Shunsui a bit.

"More familiar than anyone should have to be, Shunsui-san. But then, mine is a dangerous business."
no subject
And, at times, it definitely seemed as though it wasn't his job, much to his other Shinigami's frustration.
"But at least you're probably never bored..."
Sounding very much like he'd gladly take bored over danger any day of the week.

And then some. Duke had rather a sizable nestegg tucked away.

Entirely because of the school trip, of course, but there were surely at least a few other teachers on the faculty with less...academic reasons for teaching as well...

"Ahhh, I dabbled a bit in the arts, of course ♥," he said, shrugging a shoulder, dancing a hand in the air as he listed off his chosen specialties. "The Art of Creative Writing, the Art of Pacifism, and the Art(s)," yes, he...somehow managed to pronouce the parenthesis there, but the man also spoke in hearts, in his linguistics, he was quite cunning ♥, "of War and Peace ♥. That last one I'll have to pester Ghani-chan about if I were to revisit it, though pestering her about anything is always a particular joy ♥. Have you met her? Brilliant woman, and that's only the beginning of her charms ♥."

Seriously, so many people had gone out to fight the clowns. On purpose.

His non-sake hand reached up to rub his chin a bit thoughtfully. "You know," he mused, "I was leaning more toward picking up the creative writing class again," because it was easier and it fit with his whole here to write a new novel bit, "but maybe it would be time to bring a little pacifism back to Fandom...."
There was a whole class where they just punched things each week, after all. It would help provide a little...balance.

Admittedly, it didn't exactly mesh with the whole 'pirate' theme of his course.

Or maybe he was just suddenly feeling a bit nostalgic
from toooootally reading old ass threads, omg.no subject
Sea shanties. He was primarily down to just sea shanties left. Or possibly just attacking a fake East India Company vessel.

"I hear this is a busy place these days," she said playfully, dipping one foot into the water before stepping in gracefully. Her long, long hair was braided up around her head in a crown.
Bliss. Hot water was such a wonderful thing. Especially with her least favourite time of the year approaching.
no subject
Especially when that person happened to be a beautiful woman.
"Hot water, relaxation, sake, and beautiful people free from the restriction of clothing ♥," Shunsui noted, cracking open an eye, which was followed by the other. "What's not to love ♥?"

He reached for his jug of sake and one of the many cups for such an occasion, close enough that he barely had to strain.
"Would you care for some sake, my dear ♥?"
no subject
no subject
"Which only causes one to wonder..." And with the question, he handed the cup over to her, "does she also have a name ♥?"

"It been a while since I were called with a '-chan'," she said, though she didn't mind. "Ne, Shu-kun?"
Hey, he'd said to call him anything she wanted!
no subject
"Are you familiar with Japanese, then, Iris-chan ♥?" he asked. "Ara ara, but aren't you already filled with delightful surprises ♥?"
no subject
And she didn't look anything like Japanese from this world looked, even if someone ignored the fact that her eyes lacked pupils.
no subject
Oh, anime.
"Ahhh, then it looks like you and I have something in common, Iris-chan ♥," Shunsui noted, looking terribly pleased with this fact. "I, too, am Japanese, but not quite this world ♥."
...not quite at all, Shunsui. But okay.
