"So, weirdest thing this morning," Duke said, setting his cooler down in the kitchen. "I'm out fishing, as usual, decide to maybe stick closer to the island this time. And what do I find?" He opened the cooler and scooped out the contents. "Tiger shrimp. Tiger shrimp! In the Atlantic!"
The kitchen staff, who'd shown mild interest when he came in, shrugged and went back to their jobs.
"They're a Pacific species!" Duke looked around at them and sighed. "You all have been here too long." He grabbed Matty by the back of his collar as he went by. "You know how to devein a shrimp?"
"Um," said Matty.
"It's easy. You'll get the hang of it in no time." He handed him a paper list. "Grab these, update the specials sign, and let's get to work."
