The Perk; Sunday Afternoon [12/15].
Prompto's camera was definitely getting a work out these last few days. Yesterday, he'd all but filled it with shots of those reindeer and the rickshaws, and there was just something really nice about the candles in the windows here and there that made for some good sort of rustic scenery type of shots. So his weekend had been filled with running around and snapping pictures of everything, and now he was settled at a table by the window (just in case any other great potential shots happened to be strolling on by!), with a nice, big, sugary latte, going through the shot to weed out the really, really bad ones.
Because, sure, Prompto was actually a really good photographer, but he also was incredibly excitable, and sometimes forgot about things like...moving his thumb away from the lens or brush in the way or, you know, focus and motion blur.
And he was still wearing his Santa hat, too. What? It was festive! And he liked it! And maybe it meant a lot to him that Grog had saved one for him while he was away, shut uuuuuuuuup!
[[ I'm staring down the barrel of a potentially nightmare day at work and am in desperate need of distract, so please, please, this post is completely open for all your perkly and/or Prompto needs! ]]

And when she got the drink, it... wasn't the way she wanted it, but now Sabine didn't think she could just go to the station to add things to it? Sooooooo.
"Are we having a hat thing again?" she asked.
[On SP this morning but I am here to help![

He had, after all, styled his hair to go around it perfectly and was actually a little proud of its slightly jaunty little angle.
"How's it going, Sabine? Wanna sit down and join me? Or are you worried you'll get too much of my jinx on you?"
[[yaaay!]]

Which was why she was being nice and not asking him to try it to confirm what she was saying.

Tried being the operative word.
Whether or not he succeeded was probably very much up to debate.

Sigh.

He wasn't smirking, he wasn't smirking, he wasn't...
...okay, maybe a biiiiiit, but, come on! How could he not?

"If it makes you feel any better," he offered, "I don't think I could do it, either, but, I mean, I do sort of have to ask...why?"

Then he paused, as if actually hearing the words that had come out of his mouth.
"Actually, though, maybe it's because they're so used to it, because it cannot be easy working here with all the weird shit that goes on, now that I think about it..."

To be fair, that was a very, very acceptable Fandom guess.
"I mean, it's probably not too different from whatever it is that lets Nina cook the way she does. Have you ever seen Nina cook? I'm pretty sure I've almost made my friend Ignis cry over how Nina cooks. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how you do make coffee in her world."

It was fascinating and confusing and she still ate it even though she couldn't figure out how it was done of what she was actually eating!

And he snorted.
"Then again, so does Nina."

She was going to make a beeline for the counter, though, before saying anything further. Though, Silly, of course, had a different idea...
So, small, small bird fluttering your way, Prompto. Complete with excited chirps.
no subject
But, then again, Prompto always gasped when he saw Silly, it was practically an unconscious reflex at this point.
"SILLY!!!!!!" he added, delving a little into the sort of punctuation abuse that might become just an Argentum trait at this rate. "Heeeeeeeeey!"
And, after a laugh, he shouted toward the counter, "HI TO YOU, TOO, IRIS!" because he wasn't about to be rude or anything!
no subject
"Yeah, yeah, it ain't like I don't know who you're most excited to see!" she called back, laughing, as she rattled off her order.
Meanwhile, Silly careened to a fuzzy, fluffy stop on the edge of the table, peeping proudly, and floofing himself up in greeting.

Prompto smirked almost proudly over at Iris's comment, but it was brief and fleeting because, hello, adorable little baby chocobo right there on the edge of his table, and he needed to be too busy just melting right now, because, ohmygod, how could there be such a perfect, beautiful creature to ever exist????
"Awwwwww," Prompto said, because there really wasn't much more too say, and he grinned, leaning forward and holding out a hand to see if Silly was in the mood for some major adoration pets. "How it going today, little buddy? It's really good to see you!"
no subject
... Because that had worked out so well for Iris right now, yes.
Silly was always in the mood for major adoration pets, though, so yes, with some tweetling little toddles and some noises that were just too cute to exist, he was going to rub his fluffy little head against that hand beseechingly.
no subject
...it really didn't take much to make Prompto happy, no.
Or a pile of schmushy goo, either.
"Just look at youuuuuuu," he gushed, giving that nudging head all the pets and rubs and scritches it deserved. "Aren't you just the most handsome, adorable, bestest little baby chocobo in the whole wide multiverse?? Are you having a good day, Silly? I bet you are, you should be! The multiverse's best chocobos deserve the best days, you know!"
no subject
"Silly," Iris said, once she got her drink and wandered over. "You're bein' a suck-up."
Silly super was and Iris didn't sound bothered by that as her hair reached out and pulled her hair out for her, so she could fold herself into it, apple fritter and hot chocolate-but-really-mostly-whipped-cream in hand.
"And you," she continued, raising an amused eyebrow at Prompto, "you're just as bad for encouragin' him."
Again, not that she sounded like she minded.
no subject
And his beaming grin up at Iris probably said as much, too, with maybe just a bit of a slightly distracting blink at what her hair was doing, because, hey, sometimes stuff like that, while maybe not that surprising anymore, was still a bit...surreal.
"I'm not saying anything that isn't true!" he protested. "Silly is legit the best little baby chocobo I've ever met."
Silly was also the only baby chocobo he'd ever met. Which was a damn shame!
And then he turned to Silly, all gush and mush again. "Aren't you, Silly? Yes, you are! You really, really are, aren't you?!?"
no subject
Iris considered the cute tableau of silly boy and silly bird and figured, what the heck, she could totally make it worse and get out of having to do a thing herself.
"Want to give him a snack?"
no subject
And then he laughed.
"How is that even a question? Of course I want to give him a snack!"
And he emphasized that word to see if it would cause a reaction out of Silly himself. Silly, who was getting yet another adoring, beaming grin directed at him as Prompto gushed and smoothed out the feathers on his head. "And you want a snack, too, don't you, Silly? For being such a good boy! I think you deserve all the snacks!"
