Luke's Diner, Saturday

The staff was in a good mood today. A weirdly good mood. Miguel could swear the dishwasher was actually humming. He...wasn't going to question it. He was just going to get his coffee, settle in, and help as needed.

Today's Specials:
Bacon cheeseburger
Chili cheese fries
Oreo cheesecake

He could feel his arteries clogging already.

Rosa was feeling oddly restless and bored that Saturday, to the point where not even sharpening and reorganizing all of her knives and axes seemed to satisfy her. So, even though she loathed to even step foot into Luke's these days due to reasons pertaining to its shiny new ownership, her ennui and her (not even always begrudging!) affection for Tightpants brought her in anyway.

"Hey."

"Not enough," Rosa answered, because, oh, she'd seen the specials board, and she even passed another glance that way, but her response had nothing to do with her feelings toward her arteries. In fact, all of that sounded amazing, and she was just glad her body was terrified of her enough that she could suppress an attempt by her stomach to growl just then. "I'll just have coffee."

Rosa shrugged, reaching for the coffee and taking a sip before answering.

"My class is stupid and irritating," she said, "I think my dog and the station cat are plotting something evil against me, and I'm pretty sure the last time I had this much chocolate vodka in one week was when I was sixteen.

"So....you know...." She shrugged again, took another sip. "Quiet.

"Yours?"

"That depends," said Rosa, after a moment to consider it, brows frowning, "on if the cat knows Russian."

Which would usually be reassuring, but not so much around here.

"At least I know I can always thwart her, though, with a pair of spare boots."

"Not yet, anyway," said Rosa. "Then again, I don't think the cat even has a name."

As if she would be bothered to remember it if it did.

"Kincaid?" Rosa guessed, but she didn't sound terribly convinced. "Maybe the troopers as a whole? The station itself? Who knows. It just sort of showed up one day and decided not to leave."
