Caritas- Tuesday
It'd been slow lately, and Kitty had been trying to think if new ways to drum up business. The problem was she'd made the mistake of asking Tino for his thoughts.
Which was why so much of what she was saying tonight were things like "No, we're not having a wet t-shirt contest" and "okay, I'm not bringing livestock into my bar."

sometimesgood for a few decent sales on a Tuesday? Either way, she was making it in today, and giving one of her patented furrowed-brow looks of disapproval at Tino."God," she said, "he looks like he's actually been trying to rub his two brain cells together."
And then she looked at Kitty. "And you look like you've had to actually listen to what that sounds like."
Both were, unfortunately, looks that were all-too-familiar.

It didn't to Kitty!

At least there was some upside to a wet t-shirt contenst. With a wet sweatshirt contest, literally all you got were wet sweatshirts.

"What is wrong with you?" she asked, but she mostly meant it rhetorically, because she wasn't sure anyone, even the most open-minded and introspective beings in the entire universe, could handle an answer like that. But, since this was Tino, she followed it up with a very firm, "Don't answer that.
"Kitty," her attention shifted to something significantly less awful, "can I get a beer? And a whiskey."
Paaause.
"Bottle."

Just that. Nothing else. She didn't really thihnk there needed to be anything else.

...she'd maybe pour a drink for herself, too, after this.

"So," she ventured, once in the possession of that much appreciated booze, "other than the obvious," one more glare sent Tino's way, just for good measure, "...how's it going?"

Which she didn't really need to tell Kitty that, but still.
Also, she felt she possibly couldn't say anything about any issues with bringing people in because there was a pretty good chance that there were at least two people on the island who avoided Caritas on Tuesdays specifically because of her. Which she might normally be pretty proud of if she was talking to anyone other than the person who owned the bar.
Who was trying to bring more people in.
Rosa was fine with this, though, as she took a swig of her beer.
"Just wait until the next big dumb thing happens," she suggested. "That's got to usually put a spike in sales, right?"

Stupid sexy devil.
"And the bartending class is not working, so I guess I have to come up with a party, or bring something new in."

Because it was weird sitting at bar with someone you weren't sure was even old enough to drive yet.
"But parties seem to always go over well here," she noted. "You had a great turnout for that big nerdy thing you did, if I remember right."
Which she may not have, because she did drink a lot that night.

Even though she almost dyed because she was obnoxious over how much she didn't actually know D&D.
"Got an idea for a theme? I guess I could always do another Name Your Own Free Drink thing."

Looking at you, Summer Smith.
"Also, the sadist in me could really go for another one of those three minute date nights. That was hilarious."
She came thisclose to almost punching a ghost. And therefor probably ending up in the pond again, but, at this point, Rosa almost considered free trips to the duck pond badges of honor.
"Anything else I could suggest," she added, because now thoughts were actually coming into her head despite her previous claim that themes were pretty much against her reliegion, "is either so stupid I want to punch myself for thinking it or involves a lot of drinking, which I feel professionally obligated to at least express a concern about."
Which was different from being actually concerned.

Who then paused just long enough to maybe make Kitty think that that was all she was going to say. But, since she expected Kitty to say something like that, Rosa wouldn't have said anything at all if she hadn't been prepared to fess up.
"Ever done an overnight sleepover adult lock-in type of thing?" she wondered. "Also, teams that compete over the bar based on who can drink the most. We had to do that with our bar back home when the Fire Department tried to claim it as their own. It got real ugly real quick, but it was probably one of the best nights I'd ever had."
