Chilly Boulder, Saturday Noon
It was a grey and boring sort of day, and for once, Lucifer had no quick escapes to the city planned - though his car was waiting out in the parking lot in case he changed his mind. Instead, he was stuck on the island. He'd spent the morning alone in his home, which had made him sad in a way that made him deeply uncomfortable, and--
Well. He'd had his fill of the extreme shakes for now.
"Hello," he said, sweeping into Chilly Boulder's with a grin and a wink for the lady behind the counter. "I'll have a Ben Skywalker, please."
Copious amounts of ice cream would surely fix everything.

And then she could turn her attention to...that.
You'd think, as long as she'd been around here, she'd have seen a Ben Skywalker in action at least once, but noooooope.
"Yeah," she noted, "you've got to be some sort of supernatural to be eating the way you do and still looking like that. Because--and, you know, forgive the expression," she really couldn't help herself, "but--good God."

But she was totally sizing up the amount of ice cream there again.
"Bad day?" she guessed.

"So are the Dad jokes," Lucifer said, through a grin that wasn't entirely pleasant. "Cliche, I mean. And no. I'm simply making the best of my vacation."
Bad few months, more like.

Summer shrugged, as if it wasn't her fault the material had just gotten so stale over the last few centuries. The dad jokes she could at least relate to.
"Obviously," she noted. "You think you'll finish all that?"

And, also also, the continued lack of flies, but that was a whole thing.
So, yeah, just this."

"Now who's being cliche?" she asked. "And I won't hate myself after an ice cream cone, that's why I got one. I would, however, hate myself after something like that."
She (needlessly) waved a hand to indicate that monstrosity.
"I know my limits."
...sometimes.
When it came to food, anyway.

Nanika was less interested in the chocolate--though she was interested in that too--than in the fact that the man sitting and eating a bunch of ice cream was... curious.

"Is there a wrong way?" she wondered, making a second trip for napkins, before plopping down in her chair and surveying her bounty.

She considered that as she decided which chocolate to start with.
"More for us, then!"
Alluka was a happy sort of soul.

"Yes," Lucifer said, grinning a grin that didn't reach his eyes, and immediately shoved a load of ice cream into his mouth.

A few spoonfuls of bliss later, she asked, "What's your favourite ice cream?"
no subject
Lucifer swallowed another mouthful of ice cream. "Chocolate," he said grudgingly. "You have to respect the classics."

(Also she'd seen Purple Pants Barista through the window manning the counter at the Perk and had been in no mood to deal with him today.)
She also took one glance at Lucifer and his latest ridiculous order, and drawled, "Do you just hang out everywhere they sell sugar in dangerous quantities?"

But also: "This is the best fun, really?"

Even with the very few times they'd spoken, it should probably not come as a surprise she didn't count herself among 'people who care about fun'.

A person like her didn't get to be fairly close with Shunsui Kyōraku and not manage to catch a few implications of something similar.
