Community Center Class: Tactics Pancake!!! | Monday
Nina was feeling a bit vexed today and she hadn't, as of yet, figured out exactly why. On the bright side, given that her class had been in the ghost ship last week, today was…
Well, it'd be a good day for her romance-ridden, trashy book little heart.
Perched upon her desk, Nina was wrapped in a blue, hooded cloak (which was the precise colour of her eyes, should anyone be paying attention) as she waited for what parts of her class would arrive today. The unpredictability of it all made planning exactly what she wanted them to do a bit of a challenge but on the other hand it also meant she was free to unleash the full force of her imagination upon all of them.
The poor fools.
"Compatriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she greeted them, upon their arrival. "Kindly follow the chalk path and stand in the middle of the circle that inhabits the center of the room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And should any try to leave the path, they would find that an invisible wall would prevent them from doing so. Look, all these drawings took a lot of effort. Once they'd done that, Nina hopped off the desk and, careful where she was stepping, and unimpeded by any invisible walls, she ran her hands over the path they'd used to walk, erasing it.
From where she was left standing, by the door, Nina surveyed her class.
"Fools ye be," she said gravely, "for last week Pirate Queen Marmalady's trap has caught you fast; the brilliantly shining light from the sapphire enclosing Prince Streuselas' ring proving to be too much of a lure to resist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps one of you wished to reclaim it, to hold it in safe-keeping until you locate the prince????????????????? Or perhaps one of you wished to take it as your own to sell for a pretty amount of potch…………….."
Nina spread her hands. "Either way, it was a foolish choice as the ring proves to be naught but an illusion, the true thing a trigger for the sinkening," yes, she was going with that as a word, "of the ruination of the once proud Queen Jama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Trapped upon the Queen Jama as she sinks, you are borne to the bottom of the sea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is undoubtedly foul magics of the Pirate Queen Marmalady that keep you alive and breathing even as honey-contaminated waters flow in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Was she leaving it up to her class to decide what honey-contaminated meant? Yes, yes she was.
"The sapphire continues to glow and now, no matter your attempts, will not be left behind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should you enter a new room, there it shall be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Toss it away, it will only come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is yet another complication as you attempt to figure out how to escape without drowning…………….. and the water level within the ship keeps rising………………."
Nina snapped her fingers and her chalk drawings shimmered and then the whole room shifted into what she'd been describing, leaving her class standing about the Captain's quarters with the sapphire glowing vilely upon the heavy, wooden desk. Water leaked in from the ceiling and walls and from under the door.
"What lies beyond the ship????????????????????" she asked. "What has happened to the prince????????????? How will you find your way out of this predicament???????????????"
[Wait for the OCD is up, up and away!]

Listen to the... Lecture?
Re: Listen to the... Lecture?
sorryall through that introduction. Look, he was an actual sailor, okay? Being trapped in a sinking ship had been a very real possibility for him for pretty much his entire adult life. He's watched his father drown at age eight. He was already deeply uncomfortable today. He was just going to stand here with his arms crossed much too tight over his chest and hope that Nina's illusions would be ridiculous to the point of unreliability.
They probably would, right? This was Nina, after all. . . .
New Compatriots!
[*If anyone wants to join in, ping here first so that Nina can get an idea of who your character is! If you don't have a name in mind, Nina will absolutely most definitely saddle you with a terrible breakfast name and attempt to shoehorn your character into a backstory. Adventure!
The Queen Jama: The Captain's Quarters
And, yeah, you're sinking fast and are under the ocean. Water is spilling in.
Re: The Queen Jama: The Captain's Quarters
A choice that seemed good at the time, because, good gods, Nina and Sidon together in this nonsense? They wouldn't survive! But now all he could think of was how much better they might survive if they all had a stupid sexy shark prince to save them all.
Mmmm, and even if he didn't survive, he would have died happy, just to have seen that muscly mass of red move effortlessly through these honeyed waters....
...wait, what???

She'd missed last week, so she felt at fault for none of this.

Air that in the real world would not be getting any fresher. . . .

Not that he had high hopes for any other rooms. Or what would happen when they tried to open an outside door.

Her killing their characters off honestly hadn’t occurred to Duke. Well, maybe one of them, late in the game, for dramatic effect.....

His brain was really pretty sure they would get swamped if they opened that door. No matter how much he tried to point out that this wasn't a real sinking ship.

The Queen Jama: Below Decks
There may be a few things to salvage* but, truly, the priority must be getting out!
[*Feel free to salvage anything you want! I am willing to work with whatever nonsense you guys come up with! :D ]
The Queen Jama: Above Deck
Your scow is unscathed, but tangled in a multitude of ropes and tethered to the mast.
Re: The Queen Jama: Above Deck
He opened his eyes after a few moments, but likely wasn't going to try to breathe out here until he absolutely had to. Which could be awhile. He was a free-diver, he could hold his breath a long time.
The Syrupine Ocean
Watching safely from a distance are impossibly gorgeous and delectable looking mermaids and mermen. They won't come near you, scattering the moment the ship turns to approach them.
The sapphire, and the prince's ring, pulse with a brighter light whenever it faces to the East.
Will you obey it? Or will you not?
Will you attempt to breach the surface, which cannot be seen?
Talk to Professor Argentum!
… Honest!
