That warehouse that is not infested with woodchucks today- Friday

Rey had gotten back yesterday, and life went on like normal. She'd made up with Duke, she had plans with Summer later, and she was doing it all with this thing hanging over her. And today she had to get into it, probably twice.

There was a reason there was going to be wine later.

She hadn't tried meditation at all since that last contact with Kylo, a little worried that it was something she'd done that had initiated it. She wasn't really managing it now, either, so instead she was sitting on the floor and waiting. And thinking too much.

"There are really obnoxious woodchucks down by the playground," Anakin complained as he arrived.

"Obnoxious how?" Rey wondered, because this would be her problem next week.

[sith_happened]

"They're throwing wood into the pond in the park and giggling really loudly about it," Anakin said, "which naturally made Christopher want to throw wood into the pond and now I'm wet."

[thatwaslucky]

"At least he didn't throw you in?" Rey asked, incredibly hopefully.

[sith_happened]

"Yet," Anakin said. "Give him a few days to think of it."

[thatwaslucky]

"Gives you time to find a distraction," Rey pointed out. "Good week otherwise?"

Week = starting Monday.

[sith_happened]

"No complaints other than the woodchucks," Anakin confirmed, smiling. "You?"

[thatwaslucky]

"I went home, rather than dealing with... everything," she admitted. "I think we have things to work on today."

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned a little ruefully. "Definitely. Where do you want to begin?"

[thatwaslucky]

"I need to know how to block other people out in general," she said. "And one person in particular."

That part was not going to work.

Anakin frowned hard. "Which one person?" he asked, already having a bad feeling about this.

[thatwaslucky]

"I saw Kylo Ren the other day," she told him. "Like..."

She gestured toward her head, because how else should she describe that?

Anakin was really, really regretting where his mind had gone.

"And this wasn't during last week's...issues?"

[thatwaslucky]

Rey's eyes got really wide at that. "No! This was two days ago!"

[sith_happened]

"Good!"

Because he might teach sex ed but no. NO.

"You weren't trying to get in touch with him?" he checked.

[thatwaslucky]

"No. I was meditating," she said. "I don't know if I did it by accident, or if he was trying to contact me, or if it just happened and neither of us meant for it to happen."

"I'd guess probably the last thing," Anakin said, "but that could be me hoping he's not trying to track you down. We'll work on blocking."

"Thank you. I just... can't have this being something."

She did not get a choice in this.

[sith_happened]

"I absolutely agree," Anakin said, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"So, what do I do?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"Get comfortable, close your eyes and meditate," Anakin said, "and I'll...poke you. Try to keep me out."

[thatwaslucky]

"Okay," she said, trying to get comfortable even while knowing what was coming next. And by the way she was frowning as she closed her eyes, it was probably obvious she hated this part.

[sith_happened]

"Visualize me like you would the remote," Anakin said, "and push me aside."

Then he tried to give her a little mental nudge.

And the reply to that was kind of a mental slap, almost like an automatic warning.

"Good reflexes," Anakin praised quietly, then shoved a little harder.
