There had been a few piece of evidence regarding a raccoon case last week that hadn't been properly logged, so Rosa was correcting it that morning, and, once everything was properly files and tagged, she got up to go over and drop the items off in the evidence lock-up.
Which she apparently wasn't supposed to go into, if the unfortunately very belated call from Ralph was anything to go by.
"Diaz! No! Wait!"
But the door swung open and Rosa, eyes going wide for a moment, stared inside.
"Well," she stated, "that solves the mystery of what happened to Ralph's two Claires."
But it wasn't just two Claires in the evidence lock-up, but a whole mess of them, because Ralph realized a bit too late that one Claire was not a male as he originally thought, and that both Claires had been getting along incredibly well.
Rosa shook her head at the room literally crawling with guinea pigs then sighed, passing a glance over to Ralph.
"Don't worry," she assured him. "I'll take care of them."
"No!" Ralph started, charging forward to stop her. "Don't do i--"
"I'll round them up and take them over to Furnado."
Ralph blinked. Maybe. It was hard to tell, what with the helmet. "...you're not going to murder them?" he asked, unable to modulate the surprise out of his voice.
"Hell no," Rosa scoffed, looking at Ralph like he's grown two heads. "I love animals. I'm the mushy one on the squad."
"...right," said Ralph. "...of course..."
"Now, help me out," she added. "I've only got two hands, and the cat looked a little hungry this morning. We're working on a tight schedule."
