Trooper Station, Friday
Calvin was pouting. Which was difficult to tell, given the fact that he was wearing a helmet, but Ralph pointed it out, and... yeah, Liam could see it now, in the way the Trooper carried himself.
Why was he pouting, you ask?
Apparently, for April Fools, he and Ralph had switched helmets two days ago. And, predictably, no one had noticed. Not even the other Troopers.
While there were enough difference in mannerisms and cadence and all that that Liam could, predictably, tell Ralph from Calvin from Hugo and etcetera, that ability did not extend to being able to tell when someone was apparently wearing someone else's armor. "You do realize," Liam said patiently, "that your helmets are all identical?"
They had not apparently realized, no.

"Hello?"

... Okay, no one who wasn't a raccoon or a squirrel.
"Hey," Liam greeted as he looked up from his desk to see Alluka. "Can I help you with something?" he asked, waving her inside his office.
no subject
"Thank you," she said. "I hope I'm not disturbing your work?"
Alluka, honey.

"On the contrary," he said, "It was kind of boring and I was secretly hoping something more interesting would come along."

That someone who looked like a pre-teen could apparently own a shop around here didn't even give him pause. That would be a little hypocritical, since he looked like a man in his mid-20s and was in fact a couple decades younger than that.

"Actually," she said, "I want to bring back something that the previous owner discontinued."
Alluka still wasn't sure why Sparkle had done it.
"We used to have a burn barrel for the removal of clothes that were crimes against fashion," she said earnestly. "And all the paperwork I can find suggests that a permit might be needed to have a burn barrel re-installed?"
She... still had no idea where she was going to find a burn barrel but, hey, might as well get the paperwork done first and maybe they'd know where to get one to be installed!

Yes, it was more paperwork, but at least it was paperwork that would serve an actual purpose.

"I didn't even think of town hall!" she admitted, with a sheepish laugh. "I thought that since I'd be starting fires... well, fighting crime," against fashion, "with fire probably should be run past the sheriff..."
