Blackstone Foundry and Forge; Saturday [04/11].
When Amaya woke up to the sounds of activity going on in the shop below her apartment, there were long-distant memories of the kind that kept her from immediately just reaching for the frying pan. But then her brain started working more on less of a subconscious level and reminded her that no one else would logically be working in the forge except for her, anymore. Well, that got her out of bed and reaching for the frying pan, but halfway to the door, her sense of reasoning kicked in and she paused, took a second to remember that this was Saturday. But not just any Saturday. It was the Saturday after the prom.
"Ahhhh.....zards," she muttered to herself, and, sighing, reached the door and headed down the stairs to confirm what she had suspected. The forge was burning brightly, there were tools everywhere, and there was a lanky blonde teenager in shiny armor milling around the place like she owned it.
"You again," said Amaya, folding her arms and judging that Zephyr seemed to have grown about an inch or so since the last time, and the blonde girl laughed, turning to the much smaller girl with her that Amaya didn't recognize at all.
"She always says that when I discover her little secret love nest on this island," Zephyr informed the other girl, who Amaya didn't recognize at all, though she was now trying to place her. It was clear to see that, whoever she was, she was Radchaai, by the style of dress and hair and the gloves on her hands, but she definitely wasn't Etnys, and why did Seivarden's kids always seem to end up in her shop--
But then the girl looked Amaya's way and hit her with a pair of very not-conventionally-Radchaai blue eyes, and Amaya's own blue eyes grew wide. She didn't even need to hear the girl's cry of "Mother! Zephyr told me you were here, but I didn't believe her!" to know what was going on with this.
"Oh...." How did you even find words for a moment like that? "Zards."
Yeah, that would do. And Amaya was pulling out her phone because she knew Zephyr's presence couldn't be helped, at this point, but there was no way she was dealing with this other one alone.
The Forge is open! And with helpers!

"Amaya," Seivarden said, "is everything ok..."
This was when she saw a kid holding a very sharp tool in her gloved hand.
"You let her play with that?!"

The kid ran over to hug Seivarden, still holding on to the aforementioned tool.
"Zephyr and I are building things. I'm teaching her about spaceships. She's never seen one."

"He was nothing of the sort," she added, a little softer, "and you know that."
She could only assume that comments like that were all Zephyr's complete mystery of a father's doing.

It was actually true. She had left Lucifer in quite a hurry.
Ignoring Zephyr's comment, she said:
"I take it you don't have any toys around. Maybe you can make some."
It was a project, Amaya!
"Maybe we could go for a nice breakfast somewhere and let your mother get some work done." Smiling at the kid, Seivarden held herself back from trying to tug the tool out of her hand. "Uelin? After your great grandmother?"

Cue Amaya's groan and eyeroll, and Zephyr's eyeroll back.
"Can I get coffee? I have so many things to ask you! And j need to spend time getting to know my adorable little illicit love affair half- sister!"

She didn't have a lot of days to make exceptions, after all.
And then there was Zephyr, who had more or less invited herself, as Seivarden wasn't going to just tell her no.
"If your mother doesn't mind," she said, giving Amaya a slightly pleading look.

But, ultimately, the fact that Seivarden was even interested or comfortable spending time with their apparent kid was a rare gift that she hadn't exactly had the previous two years that it would be foolish of her to not take advantage of.
"We'll get cake and coffee together later, Zephyr," she offered, giving Seivarden a nod and a quirk of her brow that informed her that she owed her for that one. "I think it would be nice for Uelin to spend a little time with just her and her other mother, don't you think? I can show you some of the upgrades I've made to the Crumbler in the meantime."

"I hope you're not planning to make it do that."
At least it would be an efficient way to keep people from staying the night, unless you were Zephyr's father.
She turned to Uelin again: "So, let's go. I'm sure you'll get an introduction to the Crumbler later."
With Seivarden hovering in the background.

The promise of looking at the Crumbler later made it an easy choice though.
"See you later," she said to Amaya and Zephyr, then turned and skipped towards the door.
