"So you're just not going to come in on weekends, huh," Ali said when Duke came into the diner today.
"That's . . . pretty much my plan, yeah," Duke said. "You all handle things just fine without me most of the week."
Ali let out a dark huff and returned to the dishwasher.
"What's his problem?"
"He wanted to meet your kids," Billy said, taking the cooler from Duke.
"Eliot always brought his kids in," grumbled Ali.
Duke sighed. "This is going to be a thing, isn't it."
