The gremlin was still in a mood from Friday. Apparently, gremlins and Skywalkers didn't mix? But even when there wasn't biting involved there seemed to be some animosity.

"Look," Rey said, "I'm sure Master Skywalker is very sorry."

He wasn't. But she was trying to keep the peace here.

It had already been a very long day--Anakin had spent the better part of an hour chasing puppies and children around the park thanks to Nina and Prompto--and was now stomping into the shop smelling faintly of dog and dirt. "Hello?"

"Hi," Rey greeted him, waving him in. "How are you?"

The gremlin turned their little seat to face away.

"It's been a trying day so far," Anakin said. "How have you been?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Good enough," she said, and asked, "What's been trying about it?"

[sith_happened]

"Nina and Prompto let every puppy in Furnado loose in my house. It was quite the birthday wakeup," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"That sounds amazing," Rey said, before the other part registered. "And happy birthday!"

She should probably start learning people's, huh?

[sith_happened]

"Thank you," Anakin said with a wry smile. "So the puppies and the kids went racing out of the house and I spent the better part of the morning trying to herd them back where they belonged."

"That sounds like you missed a valuable opportunity to play with puppies," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"I played with some of them while herding," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Which is a visual image I never want to get rid of," Rey admitted. Seriously, aww.

[sith_happened]

"Go visit them in Furnado," Anakin replied. "They have a loooot of energy to burn."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm afraid I would leave with them," she said simply.

[sith_happened]

"They are fairly fuzzy," Anakin agreed as Rey's gremlin's buddy raced out from somewhere to avenge their honor and bit Anakin squarely on the calf.

"OW!"

"What?" Rey asked, immediately alarmed. "What just happened?"

[sith_happened]

"Gremlin," Anakin gritted out, reaching to rub his calf as the venom sunk in.

He gave Rey a terrifying grin and then began singing in a high pitched, earwormy way: "Baby Shark doo doo de doo--"

Rey stared at him, jaw dropped, having never actually seen this in action before.

"Oh.... no?" What did she do here? What did you do in this situation?

"Sing along!" Baby Shark chirped, doing weird hand gestures with his fins. Hands. Whatever. "Baby Shark, doo doo de doo, Baby Shark--"

"I don't know the words," she said, not knowing that that wouldn't save her.

[sith_happened]

"It's not hard," Baby Shark squeaked. "Baby Shark, doo doo de doo--" Oh, there was now dancing. Rey, you lucky person.

If Rey was a worse person, she'd be taking video. Instead she looked over at the gremlin and said, "What do we do?"

The gremlin just shrugged, and started inching towards the nearest exit, because it probably wasn't going to be a good idea to stick around.

"You're a really happy shark," Rey tried.

"Doo doo de doo--" Baby Shark prompted helpfully.

"How long does this song go on?" Rey wondered.

Forever, Rey. FOR.EV.ER.

"Mommy Shark, doo doo de doo--"

"Oh. There's... more sharks," Rey realized, resigned.

So many sharks.

Baby Shark helpfully repeated his hand gestures. "Mommy Shark, doo doo de doo, Mommy Shark, doo doo de doo--"

Rey, looking very unsure about this, did the hand gesture. Did this make it better? Or worse?

Baby Shark squealed in glee--a noise Anakin Skywalker should never, ever make--and went to the next verse. "Daddy Shark, doo doo de doo--"

"Is this a small family of sharks?" Rey wondered.

She was never going to be able to bring this up to him again, was the thing.

It was not, Rey!

"Grandma Shark, doo doo de doo doo doo, Grandma Shark, doo doo de doo doo doo, Grandma Shark!"

"Oh. Grandparents."

Normally, Rey would at least be a little sad about a family thing. But she wasn't, currently?

It was because the song was just so catchy and Baby Shark was super into it, right?

"Grandpa Shark, doo doo de doo doo doo, Grandpa Shark--"

"Is that all the family members?" Rey asked, hopefully

[sith_happened]

Two big shark fins that weren't actually fins up! "Let's go hunt, doo doo de doo--"

Do the dance, too, Rey!

Rey raised her arms, in a way that could only be described as halfhearted/seriously concerned.

It was a thing.

Was too.

[sith_happened]

"Yay!" Baby Shark cheered as the gremlin venom wore off and Anakin stood there, glaring at basically the world.

Rey paused for a moment, and finally said, "I saw nothing."

[sith_happened]

"That would be for the best," Anakin agreed, wiping his hands over his eyes.

[thatwaslucky]

"See you at training?" she guessed.

[sith_happened]

Anakin looked extremely relieved. "Yes."
