The Perk; Sunday Afternoon [04/26].
Without having to worry about criminal justice or pacificism tomorrow, Astrid was thinking about something she hadn't done in a while, something she hadn't really done much since she got back, though, to be fair, she hadn't exactly done much since getting back, and that was going to get a coffee and finding a seat at the Perk to people watch and do some sketching.
But the sketching was mostly mindless, as she thought a little bit on how it was hard to think that she'd been back for a whole semester...after the summer, she'd have been back at Fandom for about as long as she'd been back in California. And what would happen after that? After what happened, she didn't think they'd send her back again, but who knew? If there was anything she'd come to understand about life, it was that there was no guarantee with anything.
She was starting to feel a little better, a little more comfortable about being back. But she also wasn't about to get too comfortable yet, either.
At least she was getting lots...and lots of work done, either way.

Alluka studied the cookie offerings. There was not nearly enough chocolate in any of them.
"Um, um can I get a peanut butter cookie, then?" Her bunny reminded her that she wasn't alone. "Oh, um, two of them? Or... or... four of them? Yes, four!"
Because more sugar was always better.
[Go team last minute app-writers?]

assuming she'd be appropriately cutely dressed, that is, then her noticeable appetite would make up for the rest. Astrid tilted her head curiously for a moment, taking in the visual for a moment before turning to a fresh page in her sketchbook.[[*last minute high five! YEAH!*]]

"And," Alluka continued, unaware of being under scrutiny, "two of your largest hot chocolates, please!"

...and now to figure out if and how to perhaps work in the cookies and the hot chocolates.
Although that did make her wonder...
She might have normally kept quiet, but Astrid had reached the point where she remembered that quiet wasn't as...useful as other places she'd been, where quiet was practically a survival skill.
"Is all that for you?" she asked, offering a faint smile to the other girl, a little awkward, being personable didn't come naturally to Astrid, not anymore. "Or are you sharing?"
no subject
"Theoretically," Alluka said, as she settled her bunny in once chair. "Half of it's for him."
She thought it was a good excuse.

Maybe she should do something with rabbits for the wall next...
"He must have a bigger appetite that you'd expect, then," she noted, looking back over to the girl. "What's his name?"
no subject
Which was about the only part of her stuffed toys that she still really believed they did. The rest of it was make-believe.
"I'm Alluka," she added. "Alluka Zoldyck."

She then passed a glance back to the bunny, as if expecting him to then finally follow suite, after the girls had identified themselves.
And, around here, she was almost half-expecting it to work.

The bunny just stared at both of them.
After a moment, Alluka leaned over and broke one of his cookies in half.
"Are you a student here?" she asked curiously. "It's nice to meet you!"

It seemed like an odd question to ask, since she didn't recall seeing the other girl around much. But Astrid knew she hadn't exactly been a social butterfly this semester. She's been actively doing the oppsite, in fact.

She didn't look old enough to have graduated or run a store but, well, that was just how it worked sometimes.

"That's one of the clothing stores in town, right?" she asked. "It used to be called something else? Demon Marcus, right?"
Astrid noticed things likethat. And it had been a name Astrid could at least appreciate, a little more now than before.

She was still a little baffled by how casually she'd asked that question, too, considering there had been a time where a conversation like this would have her questioning her sanity. Now? She didn't even bat an eye.

There was, however, a slight pause there.
"That I know of, anyway."

Alluka's clothes were not even a little bit built to have wings sprout out the back.
"And what kind of wings would they be? Butterfly wings are totally different from dragonfly wings!"
