The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

All was fine at the Devil's Nest by Tuesday. Chairs had been tastefully arranged in front of the axe range, not so much blocking it as gently hiding it from view.

"Did you know there actually is such a thing as a cool blue martini?" Seivarden asked, leaning against the piano and taking a sip from a very blue drink.

She expected that Lucifer did. She had known the name from some menu.

"I did," Lucifer said, looking up with a smirk. "It's perfect for Insta."

The discount meant Seivarden was going to try to remember martini variations for the rest of the evening.

"At least it's better than Summer's jello shots."

Lucifer pulled a face. "Can we not talk about Summer and her jello shots?"

"Why..." Seivarden began, then: "...did that bother you?"

[my_own_advocate]

"It's just an extra complication I didn't need," Lucifer sighed.

There were too few single women on the island as it was.

Seivarden sipped her drink. "Summer is smart enough not to make a fool of herself. Anyway, what's with the rearranging of the chairs?"

"No, she just likes to act oddly whenever I visit the bar," Lucifer said, and then turned to look at the chairs. "Oh, I'm planning to retire the axe range. I would do it now, but Eric wants to do some sort of massive event with it, so I figured I might as well block it off now and ready the cleaners later."

"So people are actually using it?" Seivarden said, then shrugged. "I can see why it's annoying, but I'm sure it could be worse."

"I've actually never seen anyone use it," Lucifer said dryly, "So the people swarming to Eric's little wannabe-massacre are clearly not going to turn into regulars."

"Doesn't sound like the event will be a success, then," Seivarden said. "Eric should have invited the sword club while it still existed."

"Oh, I'm sure people will show up to the event," Lucifer said. "But that will hardly help us any unless they start coming back for drinks on other ocasions."

"You don't have any plans for a more successful event?" Seivarden said, her blue martini nearly finished.

"Or would that make him grumpy?"

"The succesful event is that I'm actually here two times a week and we get customers," Lucifer said dryly. Beat. "... Though actually, I should have a party."

That had to be a good sign, Seivarden thought. Perhaps Lucifer was finally in a better mood.

"You should," she said. "Any ideas for it?"

"Something ridiculously lavish," Lucifer mused. "Maybe with cake. And dancers."

"Just make sure there are spoons," Seivarden said. "Eating cakes with bare hands surrounded by dancers is a lot more fun when most of the people there actually think it's decadent."

Lucifer chuckled. "I don't know," he said, "There are plenty of interesting things one can do with bare hands and cake."

"Are you planning a party or an orgy?" Seivarden asked.

[my_own_advocate]

"Every good party has the potential to turn into a very good orgy," Lucifer returned.

"That depends more on the guests than the cake though, doesn't it?" Seivarden said. "Although if you offer cake here it might attract the right crowd for it, especially combined with dancers."

"The real trick to planning a party is making sure the cake matches the guests," Lucifer said, smirking.

"So what kind of cake will it be?"

Seivarden grinned at she took a sip from her drunk.
