Stark Industries- Sunday

Rey had gotten a call to come home for a mission finally, and was trying to spend today getting things settled in time to leave tomorrow. Maybe it'd be an easy shift and she could leave early.

But no. Instead, the balls from the warehouse ball pit were now loose all over the floor, and Rey was trying to use the Force to scoop them up into one area so she could contain them. And then she'd have to make a warning sign...

"In the drawers, too?"

Better than kumquats, really.

Liam didn’t have anything electronic that needed fixing; he didn’t even have baked goods to bring by as an excuse to drop in. He was just here because he wanted to say hi, honestly.

Except... there were balls all over the floor. “What is this?” he had to ask, toeing at one of the balls with a foot.

“There are worse problems to have, I suppose?” Liam offered philosophically, picking up the ball and tossing it over. “Do you know why?” Why did Fandom do anything, really?

“... Did you go in the ball pit?” Liam had to ask. He’d never been in one himself, but it was supposed to be fun, he thought? If you were a kid, anyway. Which.... neither of them were.

“He made you, huh?” Liam grinned.

“So how was the ball pit training, exactly?”

The questions weren’t stopping, sorry not sorry, Rey!
firstofitskind: (i'm not giving you my shirt)

[personal profile] firstofitskind 2020-06-14 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
“Okay,” Liam acknowledged. “That sounds like training.” Those balls were small and light, which meant he was sure they would make some pretty fast-moving projectiles.

Just getting in the ball pit didn’t sound at all training-like, though. For the record.

So did Liam, honestly.

“Said what?” he asked, the very picture of innocence.
firstofitskind: (i hear you)

[personal profile] firstofitskind 2020-06-15 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Liam shrugged. “Just felt like it,” he told her. “Do I need a reason beyond that?” he asked lightly.
firstofitskind: (taelon shit)

“Contemplating breaking something just to see if you could fix it, now,” Liam admitted. Not that he had any doubt in her abilities, but so far no one else in Fandom had anything like Taelon bio-organic tech that he’d seen.

"Things to do, huh?" Liam hummed. "Sounds important. I suppose that'll give me the time to find something to break, though."
firstofitskind: (hmmm)

[personal profile] firstofitskind 2020-06-15 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
In all honesty, he'd probably start her off with the puzzle Lili had given him the day he'd been born, during those few hours where he'd been... something resembling a child. Because all joking aside, the idea of intentionally breaking something made him more than a little nervous (sorry, Rey).

"If it's something I can help with..." he let that offer dangle.

[personal profile] firstofitskind 2020-06-15 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
And Liam was polite enough not to point out that she'd probably just jinxed it there.

"It's possible I'm getting a little restless," he shared, a little sheepish. He'd more or less adjusted to Fandom's level of activity being what it was, but it felt like things had been even quieter than usual, the last few months.

That his favorite student was currently off on a spy mission back in her world didn't exactly help, honestly.

"I definitely want," Liam told her, boyish grin lighting his face.
firstofitskind: (hmmm)

"Which is the day I usually check in at the Station, so that works for me," Liam said. Sure, he also technically had workshops to attend, but as far as he knew only one of them was actually happening this week and he was pretty sure Stark would understand him missing one. "Of course," he realized, smile faltering a bit. "Verity's currently a flying squirrel."

He didn't know if he should bring her with him, or trust her and the mice to not get into too much trouble for a few days.
firstofitskind: (a small smile)

[personal profile] firstofitskind 2020-06-15 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
“Can’t be worse than the mice,” Liam decided. Sure, Verity was a central figure in the mice’s religion and they would never do anything to hurt her, but they also weren’t above coaxing her into what could absolutely be classified as ‘mischief’ while she was like this.
