The Park, Wednesday Evening

With a piano to soon be delivered and a bookshelf ordered, Lucille had what she needed here. Those things, and the people she had met so far, couldn't chase away the loneliness though, as if a part of her had been permanently removed, which demanded her to adapt.

You couldn't save me. I was left to die alone.

Thomas had never spoken those words, but she could hear them in her head.

I couldn't. You were.

She felt nothing, which was probably for the best. Two ducks walked past her and she let herself imagine what it would feel like to wring their necks.

Freya tried to keep her roof-jumping to a minimum as nighttime fell; most people didn't exactly appreciate normal rats scurrying around their roofs, mich less ones that were more than six feet tall wielding long spears. So she was on her way back to the dorms when her knee eyes spotted a figure in the park. The shapes were all wrong, and she'd already gotten used to tampering down the automatic swell of hope in her chest, but she couldn't be too sure. So she landed from the closest building, not too far away, but far enough to hopefully not startle, and approached at a more regular gait.

"It's a nice night for being out," she offered, conversationally, as she strolled by, a paw passing in the air in greeting.

It would always take Freya back a little if anyone did show surprise, really, so it was a good thing. Even with how human everyone here was, at least no one yet had seemed to think a Burmecian was odd, even though it really was.

She smiled, watching the birds for a moment, before she said, "I can't imagine they'd have much to complain about in the first place. They seem to live a rather charmed and peaceful existence here."

"Freya Crescent," she said, offering out a large paw. "I'm a student currently at the school, which is still a bit strange to say. Do you live here in town?"

"I have finished with my education and training back home for about a year now," Freya explained, "though I suppose my mentor would tell me that one is never finished learning and improving. That's most of the reason I've decided to go along with it. It's a strange situation, but there might still be something that can be gained from it. Besides, they can't seem to figure out how to get me to the proper world whenever I try to find my way home at the Portalocity office."

Freya hadn't really thought of it as being stranded so much as it was that they seemed to be far more familiar with some other Gaia, and even though they kept saying they fixed it, it always sent her to the wrong Gaia still. The thought of it being more than a mistake and her actually being stuck here was...

...unacceptable, really, but she would think on that a little more later.

"I'm a dragon knight of Burmecia," she answered, although she didn't expect it to mean anything to Lucille; it hadn't meant anything to anyone on this island so far. "Although I have left my home in search for my mentor, who has disappeared without trace or trail. I don't suppose you have ever crossed paths with a man by the name of Sir Fratley, have you? He would be Burmecian," she gestured to herself, "like me, which I understand would be a rarity indeed in this world."

It wasn't as if Freya wasn't aware that she was a giant rat.

And even though she had expected a response like that, she still sighed a little, shaking her head. "I figured as much. I suppose I will just have to keep being diligent and hope that if I cannot find Sir Fratley here, then I can at least get home and find him there."

"I am learning unexpected new skills," Freya allowed. "The weapons course I'm taking is a good reveiw and a chance to work with weapons that aren't in my wheelhouse, and I've been learning something called yoga, although it's half yoga and half avoiding various animals. But they're useful; Sir Fratley always emphasized the importance of always learning, so it's not as if I'm wasting my time..."

Even if it definitely felt like she was wasting her time.

"What did you study?" she asked. "When you were a student here?"
