Duke had brought his ukulele to the diner today. After last week, he wasn't about to let his staff pick their own music, and anyway, hanging out with Lucifer on Tuesday had him in the mood to make some.

Besides, he'd had Jimmy Buffet stuck in his head for days now.

If his waitstaff started waving lighters again, though, he was going to have to fire somebody.

Astrid had finished the sketch like she said she would. Or, rather, she'd redone the original sketch in charcoal, added a few carefully planned swatches of color, reds and royal blue and steel grey, with oil pastels, and found a cheap frame to put it in. She came into the diner, setting it on the counter, then slung her backpack into one seat before sitting in another.

And maybe might have quirked a brow at the ukelele.

Duke gave the ukulele an enthusiastic strum in response, smiling as he came over to see the sketch.

And whistled. "Money well spent."

"Practically giving it away now," said Astrid, "but if you throw in a sandwich, I think that'll make it pretty even."

You had no one to blame for that but yourself, Duke.

"Hey now, we already had a deal," Duke said with a laugh. "But alright, I'll allow for some new negotiation. Since you framed it and all."
