The Perk, Sunday Morning
You wanna know what wasn't meant to be used to make coffee? Lemonade. That was why Danny immediately spit out the sip he'd taken, gagging a little at the horrible, horrible crime that had been inflicted upon him here.
Sadly for him, literally everything was now lemonade flavored.
Today was a bad day on all new levels. And he hadn't even tried to take a shower this morning to see how it could only get worse!

Guess which one Liam was?
Anyway. He was in here for baked goods, today, rather than beverages. And sure, technically JGoB had a better selection but the Perk was closer, so. Though the barista eyerolling at him and mouthing 'Seriously?' as he picked out a lemon-filled danish gave him pause, he had to admit.
"You look like you're in a good mood," Liam observed, giving Danny a once-over.

"They made the coffee with lemonade," Danny said with a accusatory look at the barista. Who was jaded about these things happening in this town. You wanted coffee made of mulled wine? They'd make it. Lemonade? Sure, why not?

"On purpose?" Liam had to ask. "Or was it just... one of those things that happen?"
He was betting the latter, because that explained the reaction to his ordering something lemon-y.

You know, his reputation as an arrest-happy cop. Danny had kinda done that one to himself.

"If you guys did have properly running water, would you tell me?"
That eyeroll was all she needed for an answer and she grunted, planningnher next step, which involved heading over to T&C and attempting to buy them out of every jug and bottle of water they had in stock while marveling over the fact that she actually decided to come BACK to this island.
But not before noticing Danny there and quirking up her chin. "Willaims."
Actually greeting someone she actively disliked? Maybe the time away really had changed her. Or she was gremlin bit. Or a pod person.
Or she figured he was pretty miserable about this lemonade situation and wanted to bask a little in it.
Yeah. It was probably that one.

"Please tell me the lemonade thing is just my diner being cute."
The barista shook his head sadly. Duke dropped his head and nodded miserably.
"Yeah. That figures."

"Duke," Danny said with a little head nod of a greeting. He was drinking his coffee out of sheer, caffeine addicted stubbornness. One day he'd learn of butter in coffee and find something worse than this.

"Shortstop," Duke greeted. He gave Danny's cup a disgusted look. "Tell me you're not drinking the lemonade-coffee."

Also radio.

Duke hadn't caught up on radio yet, so he had no idea what it may or may not have said. Instead he just shrugged belligerently and got his own horrifying lemonade drink.
And tossed in a bit of something from his flask. It wasn't like he could make this beverage any worse after all.

"Take a seat before you fall over."
