Around town- Sunday morning

All through the morning, you might spot a little boar named Daisy Mae (who was in desperate need of a Kleenex for some reason) with turnips strapped atop her head. She was wandering the island in search of anyone who might want to purchase said turnips.

It was a pretty simplistic reason for walking around town.

If you were curious what she was doing, or maybe just wanted some delicious turnips to eat or sell on the Stalk Market, act fast! If you didn't catch her this morning, you'd have to wait a whole week! We can't have that!

ALEXIS HAD HER CLOTHES AGAIN!

EVERYONE! ALEXIS HAD HER CLOTHES AGAIN!

So of course she had to go out and just walk around because she felt and looked fabulous again and needed everyone who might've been worried about that to know it, which is how she ran into...

"Hi, um, are you lost or something?"

"G'morning!" Daisy Mae greeted her. "You here to start your Sunday off with some fresh turnips?"

"Turnips?" Alexis asked, making a face. "Is this like, a wellness thing?"

"OK, sometimes I still get things mixed up, but I'm gonna try my best to tell you everything!" Daisy Mae began. "My gram-gram Joan's turnips are grown with pride and harvested with love. But, for whatever reason, most folks aren't interested in eatin' 'em. They buy 'em and re-sell 'em! So, here on Fandom Island, you can always sell fresh turnips. And the price changes every day! Sometimes they're worth a lot, and other times not so much. So if you buy 'em and sell 'em for a lot, you can make a lot of Bells!"

"Okay," Alexis said slowly, "when you say Bells... You mean, like..."

"They're how we buy goods on the island!"

[lovethatjourney]

"You mean money," Alexis corrected.

[fh_animalcrossing]

"Bells!" Daisy Mae nodded.

Alexis frowned, and reached into her expensive designer purse to start looking through it for her wallet. She probably had like a fifty or a hundred on her to show...

"Anyway, if you sell when the prices are low, well... Let's just say that you probably don't wanna do that!" Daisy Mae continued, ignoring her. "And the last part, which Gram-Gram always says is real important... The turnips won't keep forever. They'll rot after one week and you won't be able to sell 'em! I think that's everything... Oh! Gram-Gram always wants me to mention the official brand name. It's Sow Joan's Stalk Market. She thinks it's real cute!"

Daisy Mae laughed.

"Anway, I'll be here every Sunday sellin' turnips. I hope we can do business together! The priec of turnips today is 103 Bells each. Are you thinkin' about buyin' some?"

"Where the hell is my money?" Alexis asked, still rifling through her purse, though more insistently now.

Sure, she had credit cards, but that wasn't the point!

"Did you check your pockets?" Daisy Mae asked helpfully.

"This dress is so not cut for pockets," she said, sliding her hands on her hips where pockets would ordinarily be, and finding that her hands actually slid into pockets.

And then she pulled out a bag of bells.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING."

"There ya go! Now, about that turnip sale. You still interested?"

Daisy Mae had a purpose, see, and Alexis had bells right there.

"No! I don't need turnips!" Alexis said. "I need money, to live."

[fh_animalcrossing]

"Okeydoke! Maybe next time."

Daisy Mae turned to walk off.

"Wait wait wait," Alexis said as something occurred to her. "If Bells are money, then I can sell these things and make more money to buy things. And to like, live and everything."

"Now you got it!" Daisy Mae said happily. "Would you like to buy turnips?"

"However much this gets me," Alexis said, handing over the bag of bells. She didn't even know how much it was. What was the conversion rate?

"A-heeheehee! Thank you kindly," Daisy Mae said happily, trading the bells for several turnips. "Turnips, turnips, watch 'em rise! Try to earn a nice surprise!"

"Yeah. Okay," Alexis said, frowning, and the turnips disappeared. "Where'd they go?"

"They've been placed in your pockets," Daisy Mae told her.

"Okay but see, you can't just stuff vegetables into Stella McCartney like that. There are laws," Alexis said.

"Is there anything else?" Daisy Mae asked, ignoring that because she didn't know what to do with it.

"Yeah," Alexis said, "can I get you a tissue?"

[magnusrushesin]

"Hey there, little pig person," Magnus said, seeing absolutely nothing weird about this situation at all.

"G'morning!" Daisy Mae greeted him. "Would you like to start your day off with fresh turnips?"

[magnusrushesin]

Magnus honestly had to consider if he wanted some turnips or not. Because, you know, when an anthropomorphic pig asks you a question, you should really answer honestly.

"For eating?"

"You can eat them, or you can resell them for Bells!"

Or you could let them rot and have ants show up!

[magnusrushesin]

Okay, that third option hit a little too close to home, thank you very much.

"But wouldn't I just be making back the same thing I paid for them?"

EXPLAIN TO HIM THE TURNIP MARKET SO HE COULD GET SUPER INTO IT.

"...I need to buy all of them," Magnus said, shoving his hands into his pockets to see if he had any of these bell things.

If he had money, he did! If not, well, he better get to fishing and bug-catching!

"Today's prices are 103 Bells each. Sound good?"

[magnusrushesin]

"Uh. Sure?" HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ANY OF IT AND YET.

Daisy Mae handed over however many turnips his bells would buy. "Turnips, turnips, watch 'em rise! Try to earn a nice surprise!"

[magnusrushesin]

"Heck yeah," Magnus said, seeing nothing wrong with being able to somehow carry a shit-load of turnips in his inventory. In fact, the inventory was easier than normal to navigate!

Weird, right?

Because she was mostly just here to sell turnips.

"Nah, I'm good. I'm gonna be turnip rich now." Which meant... something. He was sure of it.
