Caritas- Tuesday
Every once in a while, when it was slow, Kitty and Tino started experimenting by seeing what new drinks they could come up with. Tonight was once in those whiles. The bartop was a little more cluttered with things they were using a lot, and the dishes tonight were going to be really annoying but that was a problem for later.
Right now the problem was Kitty having to say, "You cannot put Midori in every drink."
She had your back, patrons.

And really? It didn't even sound too terrible, although she might have been slightly worried about the 'something' aspect of it.

Since there were some changes...

Rosa shrugged. "Okay, I guess. How about you? What'd Lexi have to think about the adorable animal abomination that was the island last week?"
Deflection? What deflection? What were you talking about, again?

"Maybe a little more than okay," she allowed, and figured Kitty should feel honored to get at least that much from her, but wouldn't be surprised if she tried to push her luck, so she figured continuing to latch onto the whole kid thing would work.
"You think the butterfly thing might be just a phase for her, or did the week leave a lasting impression?"
What? ALSO HELPFUL for potential future gifts for said kid. Rosa didn't have a whole lot of confidence there, and if it turned out she could just ply the kid with butterfly stuff for a while, it'd be easier!

She could make a guess but that wasn't playing along.

Remind her why she was friends with this woman again?
Oh, right, because she was one of the few people who could ask a question like that and get away with it.
Almost.
"You're just not going to let it go, are you?"
It wasn't really a question.

"If you have to. It's not a big deal."
Which wasn't a lie. It wasn't a big deal...
...it was a HUGE deal, and don't think she wasn't still considering the fact that it wasn't too late to back out and that was probably why she was dragging her feet on it a little bit, because that window of escape was very quickly closing.

And she even timed it so the drink would be set in front of Rosa right then so the odds of her leaving were at least slightly lower.

Somehow, though, the drink only seemed to make it worse, until she sucked in a breath to lock it all down with an appropriately sober and cynical thought.
"But you should probably hold onto that until after you're sure either of us will survive it."

"Ugh," said Rosa, mostly for Kitty's unrelenting optimism, but, since Rosa actually did sort of appreciate it but would never admit that, she added, "this drink is terrible."
But she took another sip, because it wasn't really that bad.

However there was this little part of his brain that knew if he spent the next couple of months only doing experiments in his lab he'd backslide on any social advancements he would've made thus far. Having gone to the Devil's Nest and had his outfit ridiculed... he decided to check out the competition.
Doing his best to ignore the zombie band, Barry headed to the bar and frowned slightly at the test drinks being free. "Do you have a control group established to validate any of your test drinks?" he asked.

And they would be happy with non-alcoholic drinks, too!

Did Barry look visibly tense about getting an unknown variable of a mixed beverage. Indeed he did.

Lemon juice worked, why not?

He eyed the drink carefully. "Exactly what kind of flavor profile are we going for here?"

Granted one time Barry took a risk and knocked his planet off his axis rotation. Alcoholic root beer wasn't nearly as bad a risk. Unless this was a Tino concoction.

He popped the garnish in his mouth and gave the drink another look. "Am I drinking this slow or all at once?"

"Nope. Cherry flavored Root Beer is not for me. Anything with citrus?"

Barry would know. He'd given his father the bubonic plague and de-evolved him to an ape like state.
