Steve had decided that he was going to get the Troopers into fighting shape--or at least make them all run. "We could all do the Marine Corps Marathon together," he said, sounding super enthusiastic as the rest of the station milled kind of awkwardly in front of him in full uniform. "It's in October, so we have plenty of time to get in shape."

Steve bounced on his toes and headed for the stairs, "I don't wanna be no Green Beret--" he sang, "--They only PT once a day--"

Sorry, Troopers. They'll be back in an hour or so?

"If you think I'm doin' any of that, you're wrong," Danny said once Steve and his ridiculous workout plan had concluded.

"It's important to be healthy, Danny," Steve told him.

"I'm a very healthy individual." Full of stress and the occasional fried treat.

"Coffee is not a food group," Steve noted dryly.

[hatesparadise]

"Pretty sure it's at the top of the food pyramid, actually," Danny replied with a grin.

"That's where the malasadas go," Steve told him, grinning back.

"You in cahoots with my daughter or somethin' here?"

Let him live, people!

"Grace and I are not in cahoots," Steve said airily. "Your daughter is just much smarter than you."

"Obviously," Danny said like the proud dad he was. "But when she is an adult, she will understand how coffee and things like coco puffs are necessary to get through the day."

"But not every day," Steve said, "if there isn't also exercise."

[hatesparadise]

"I exercise. I go to the gym." He also had pastry crumbs on his shirt.

"Before or after you go to the bakery?" Steve asked.

"Maybe if you weren't running up and down stairs, you'd have croissants, Steven." Clearly the issue.

The troopers rustled, kinda bummed they'd missed out on croissants.

"I don't need croissants," Steve said. "I have the natural high of a job well done."

[hatesparadise]

"Oh, is that what it is?" Danny looked over at the troopers who were less than thrilled by that natural high. "Pass."

"And that's why I run faster than you," Steve said.

Also being like five feet taller.

Rude, but true.

"Pretty sure it's the fact that you're 80% legs, you Yeti."

[grenadesandohana]

Steve smirked at him. "So are you here for a case, or just to heap abuse?"

[hatesparadise]

"I'm checking in because I am your friend and want to make sure nothing has blown up while you're left without gunrunners or cartels to go after," Danny replied, not hopping up onto the edge of Steve's desk because that would just make him seem shorter. So it was really just a bit of a lean.

"I'm just gettin' these guys going on their new PT regimen," Steve said.

The troopers were definitely avoiding eye contact, lest there also be push-ups.

"No one has called complaining about produce yet, so things are looking up."

"You're trying to turn people into SEALS aren't you?" Is this why Steve would stealth sign the team up for a Tough Mudder course? Is it?

"They don't have to be SEALs," Steve said. "Just able to chase down bad guys."

Gover, he loved you, but he judged.

Grover earned that captain rank so he wouldn't have to run anymore, Steven.

"Uh huh."

[OOC: I can SUPER SPELL GROVER, I swear.]

"Next week we'll do rickshaw training. How are we on those sirens?"

Sometimes a lot of time Steve forgot he wasn't in charge here.

"You might want to send a memo to Liam or the mayor for that one." Since there was bonding over weaponry, maybe the mayor would be willing to fund that.
