Fandom Trooper Station, Wednesday

There were croissants and coffee for the troopers to keep them from rising up in revolt against Steve's weird attempts at whipping them into shape. Also because he wanted pastries for breakfast and if he couldn't get the donuts he wanted, he'd settle for buttery flakiness.

But for now, Danny and his crumbs, were at his desk, getting some paperwork done.

Which included that damn memo for the rickshaw siren.

"Hey, Danno," Steve said, coming in wearing a dripping wet RIMPAC operation t-shirt and cargo pants. "You missed the fun."

"Did I?" Because Danny was doubting it right about now.

"We played Twister," Steve said.

So now live with those mental images, Danny. Live with them.

Danny gave him a critical once over.

"I think I made the right choice."

The troopers certainly thought so because they got french patisserie and not soaked with water.

"Well, you missed watching me lose to a giant rat girl," Steve said, grinning.

Now that mental image made him smile. "You coulda lead with that, you know."

"It's not about winning or losing, Danno," Steve said in what was perhaps the most insincere thing to come out of his mouth.

It super was. Which was why Danny was laughing now. "Really?"

"Shut up," Steve said. "Sometimes it's true. Like when you're playing with kids."

You say this like he hasn't watched you coach Little League, Steve.

Yeeeeep.

"You got ejected from a Little League game, Steven. I was there for it."

"That ump was completely blind," Steve said.

Danny snorted and shook his head. "Should I start keepin' a towel on hand here for you?"

Or he could go home and shower first, but where was the fun in that when he could drip on Danny's desk instead?

"Probably," Steve said, grinning.

You know, this wasn't too far off from his behavior in O'ahu either.

"You drip on this memo, you don't get a siren."

Steve stepped back immediately. "Calvin wants one too."

[hatesparadise]

"Which one's Calvin?" Was this a test? Possibly.

[grenadesandohana]

"Third one over," Steve said. Calvin waved in affirmation.

Danny gave him an impressed little nod. "Very good. You get a pastry."

Steve beamed at him. "Thanks. I've got an eye for detail."

[hatesparadise]

"You didn't do that twins thing and sharpie their armor, did you?

[grenadesandohana]

"That would be cheating," Steve said.

[hatesparadise]

"It very much would be." Note how he didn't put it past Steve.

"I'm not cheating," Steve said, taking his well-earned croissant.

Danny made a noise that could have been one of agreement if you were being generous. "Sign the memo when you're dry, Swamp-Thing."

Steve grinned again. "Thank you, Danno."

Because God knew, Steve would never do paperwork if it could possibly be avoided.
