The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

Lucifer came to his set a bit late, content to let the music run in the background for a bit (and equally content to spend that time moving plants back into the axe range).

When he finally settled behind the piano, it was not, he had to stress, for 'sad piano songs'. Frankly, that comment kind of irked him.

So you got some almost-merry-sounding British pop tonight. And no singing to make it depressing. Enjoy.

It is a bar, after all.

Waiting for Lucifer to finish the song he was playing, Seivarden ordered a whisky from Tiny and leaned against the bar, looking around to see if anyone she knew was here.

Or dance, or whatever you do.

As per usual, he's back and forth between bar and piano often.

Seivarden caught Lucifer at the piano between two songs ~~so that she could lean attractively against it~~.

"That's a nice tune," she said, instead of pointing out that it was less depressing than what Lucifer had been playing last week.

"How has your week been?"

"Well, Duke's still missing, apparently," Lucifer said, reaching for his glass, "But other than that, it hasn't been a complete disaster."

Seivarden was about to ask if Lucifer thought he would come back completely miserable but decided against it.

"I heard something about him being gone on the radio," she said. "How is Octavia?"

If Lucifer was planning an Ibiza trip to cheer her up, Seivarden would not invite herself.

Aw, she really did learn!

"Showed up on my doorstep drunk two nights ago," Lucifer said, "But she's calmed down now."

She'd broken a bottle over Lucifer's head.

"Oh, that's good," Seivarden said, as that seemed the easiest response.

She added: "That tea we bought in New York is definitely good quality."

"I'd hope so," Lucifer said, "Or we'd have to go back in and file a complaint about their ridiculous pricing."

"It was quite expensive," Seivarden agreed, not that she hadn't paid for it. "But definitely worth it. Stop by and try it some time."

"I'm not sure I have quite your fine taste for the stuff," Lucifer said, amused, "But I'll happily tag by your apartment sometime, of course."

It tended to be fun.

"I'm sure you will find it worthwhile," Seivarden said, smirking.

"Anyway, I have no plans for this weekend, if you want to stop by."

There would be plans, she just didn't know it yet.

"Suppose that might be a decent use of a Saturday," Lucifer said, taking a sip from his drink. "You're still in a good mood."

Mostly?

"The trip cheered me up," she said, after taking a sip from her drink."

"I noticed," Lucifer said. "Didn't hear a word about anything after Saturday."

"Did you expect to?" Seivarden asked.

Lucifer gave an idle shrug. "Maybe."

"If this is about Amaya, everything is fine. We talked at Caritas on Wednesday."

'Talked' in an Amaya and Seivarden way. And even Seivarden wasn't sure everything was fine.

"Sorted everything out, did you?"

"Amaya consumed a stick full of canned meat jello shots in front of me just to see how disgusted I got, so yes, I think so. And I payed for the rum."

She finished her whisky.

Lucifer eyed her with a peculiar expression on his face that said uh-hun and yeah I doubt that all at once.

"I can't believe you drank spam," is what he settled on.

Ignoring that impression, Seivarden wrinkled her nose and said:

"Of course I didn't. Amaya did."

Two more weeks to go until Season 5 comes out and I'm eyeing all these stills like 'I HAVE QUESTIONS'. WHY DOES CHLOE LOOK LIKE A BATMAN VILLAIN?
