Fandom Trooper Station, Wednesday

Want to know what holiday today was? It was Guacamole Day! A fact that Danny could have happily lived without knowing about. But, instead of that, the Bee Lady was back at it again with the phone calls and that was the topic of the day.

So, all in all, Danny felt he deserved his second croissant. Which was his usual Trooper bribe to keep them appeased.

Such was his life.

Again, Diego did not understand the concept of not working. He did stop by to get some chips and guacamole before coming into the station though.

"Officer."

[hatesparadise]

"Officer," Danny replied, dry as could be. At least he wasn't pedantic to insist on an actual title there. "There's croissants if these guys haven't finished then off."

Ralph looked a little shady about making sure to get his fair share after Monday.

"Don't need 'em," he said, lifting up the bag he was holding. "The Mexican place was practically giving out guacamole."

"So I've heard." The phone rang again and all the troopers scattered to have very important work elsewhere in the office.

[knife_bender]

"So those guys can move fast when they want to," Diego muttered, sitting down at his desk. "Good to know."

[hatesparadise]

"If they don't want me sharing that fact with Steve, one of 'em will answer the phone because I've already dealt with my quota for the day," Danny said, giving a little huddle of troopers a look that was all Disappointed Dad.

Which worked, somehow.

"Busy day?" he asked, starting to dig into his chips.

[hatesparadise]

"Here?" Danny snorted and shook his head. "Not since the art forging fox thing."

Which had ended in a high-speed chase and an explosion. Because Hawaii Five-0.

"Should I be taking that literally?" he asked.

[hatesparadise]

"Unfortunately yes," Danny grumbled, rubbing his eyes like it would help.

Okay, that was a little weird but if Diego was thrown for a loop he didn't let it show. "Did you end up catching him?"

[hatesparadise]

"No, no we did not," Danny replied, sighing as he had his hand soar through the air in front of himself to illustrate what he continued with. "His rickshaw careened off a cliff and exploded."

That was followed by a shrug that seemed to imply both 'what can you do?' and a terrible sort of resignation to his life being this way.

Well that got a rare laugh out of Diego at least. Partially because of how ridiculous that sounded, partially because of how resigned Danny looked about it. "That's great."

He just wanted a normal life, okay? Normal!

"You're fitting in pretty well," he replied with a sigh. It was totally am accusation, though.

Diego shrugged. "Haven't come across anything all that unusual yet."

[hatesparadise]

Maybe if JFK was around...

"Then you haven't been around long enough." And Danny hadn't even had to deal with a real BDE! Just Animal Crossing.

Always Animal Crossing.

"Maybe I'm just hard to rile up." That was not true in the least. But it did take a lot for him to be weirded out by something.

"Or you're crazy because you came here willingly," Danny suggested. Helpfully.

[knife_bender]

"And you didn't come here willingly?" he asked.

[hatesparadise]

"Did not," Danny agreed. "Would quite happily leave if I could, but I keep getting kidnapped by the place."

Occasionally other places too! But mostly here.

"Alright that's a little weird," he admitted.

[hatesparadise]

"Thank you." Danny felt better now.

"This place at least has decent guacamole," Diego said right before shoving another chip in his mouth. His next sentence was with his mouth full. "So could be worse."

[hatesparadise]

"Great manners there," he replied dryly, gesturing at Diego's face. "What we're you, raised by wolves?"

[knife_bender]

Diego shoved another chip in his mouth before replying. "A chimpanzee actually."
