Devil's Nest, Thursday night

Eric was back behind the bar with a lovely selection of German lagers and hilariously tacky beer steins to pour them into.

Tiny was too busy hanging up signs for the joint Oktoberfest event on Saturday to properly appreciate the jokes Eric was making. Or he was just using said sign-hanging as excuse for not laughing.

Either way, the Devil's Nest was open! The music was, fortunately, not traditional.

"I'll have you know that my sausage jokes are amazing," Jaskier said. Because he hadn't planned on going to the bar, but now he had to.

"That part was Tiny," Eric lied immediately.

Jaskier looked over at Tiny, who was used to being stuck in the middle of arguments between Eric and someone else. "Well, then someone owes me a drink."

"Would you like an Arrogant Bastard?" Eric asked, grinning and holding up a beer bottle. "We have a lot."

"I'm unsurprised," he replied, but it was with a grin.

"They are a bit of an acquired taste, but I like them most of the time," Eric said, smirking back.

"Well, then," Jaskier replied. "I'll have to give it a try as well."

It was his taste too. Unfortunately for his poor, poor heart.

"Terrible, but you can't really stop, right?" Eric teased.

"A glutton for punishment, aren't we all?" Jaskier asked, resting his chin in his hand and keeping it propped up on the bartop.

"Sometimes it's just too fun not to be," Eric agreed. "So how have you been spending your evenings, Jaskier?"

"I have been catching up on the entertainment here with Rey and Silver, though we seem to be at the capricious mercy of fate as to what it entails each week."

Eric laughed. "What have you gotten most recently?" he asked. "I love movies."

"It was a motivational movie about a sport that none of us had ever heard of before." It was hockey. So.

"So you weren't very motivated," Eric guessed, laughing.

"I was more motivated by the rum Silver provided and the amount of food the restaurants here provide," he admitted.

"As long as Silver isn't providing the rum free from my bar," Eric said, grinning.

"...of course not," Jaskier replied a touch too slow. "He would never."

"Well, I did hire a pirate," Eric said, "but still."

"It could be worse," Jaskier agreed. "I haven't seen a single instance of pillaging. So, there's that."

Eric pouted. "I miss the pillaging."

"You could always do a bit of pillaging here." Jaskier wasn't subtle there, but he also didn't need to be.

Eric smirked. "Oh really."

Tiny loudly rolled his eyes.

Tiny was just jealous.

"I could pretend to be a naive villager if you like." That was always a fun roleplay.

"I haven't been the Viking in a while," Eric mused aloud while Tiny choked.
