Was Amaya a little bummed out that she seemed to really be one of the few lingering components of what really greased the wheels of this whole movie class in the first place left? Sure. Would she actually admit that or let it show? Of course not! On with the show, right? And literally!

It just meant the faces of the people who regularly might stop in for this sort of thing had changed a little bit, but at least there were still a few regular faces, and maybe eventually more.

"Hey, everyone," she nodded once everyone seemed to be settling in with their snacks and getting their mingling out. "So this weekend is that big dance that they call Homecoming here, which is apparently a pretty big part of American culture, enough so that there's been quite a few movies on the matter. Now, some of them do get a little mushy, because they deal with teenagers, even though you couldn't tell by looking at the people who play most of them, but that's alright, because it's thematic, and the whole point of this class actually wasn't to be just about watching movies, but about learning about this world while we're at it. So let's dive in."

And, of course, since Amaya had a nice clear vision for this week, as well as several other directions she'd considered taking it, the movie itself decided to do its own thing and wound up playing something completely different.

"Oh, zards!" said Amaya, trying futilely to fix it, but of course, no amount of smacking or even destruction would stop it. "Not this one again!"

They always had to be the musical mushy ones, didn't they???

Because you can't have a movie class without plenty of moddable snacks, drinks, and less moddable conversations!

Part of the reason Lucille was here today was that she hoped Tisarwat would be too, and perhaps she would be interested in a poem Lucille had come across earlier today, before the movie started.

In addition to knowing that she seemed to have been successful in turning Lucille on to the idea of coming to these classes regularly, it had not escaped Tisarwat's attention that all the recent events revolving around the Radch would be leaving a certain...gap in the social fabric of this island that seemed ripe with the potential to be filled. After all, that particular gap was already Radchaai shaped, and Seivarden being gone lessened up the awkwardness of it all significantly...

If anything, she also sort of hoped tonight would be a good distraction from the question of whether or not she was making the right choice by staying. It didn't help that she knew where her thoughts of wanting to stay because of all the potential here were coming from.

So she was a bit distracted, as she picked out her snacks and poured some tea, but she was making an effort not to be.

"Tisarwat," Lucille said, pouring herself a cup of tea. "I had hoped to see you here. How are you?"

She smiled, the warm smile very few people ever got.

Liam hadn't meant to miss the last few classes, it was just that... well. Sometimes ~~real life~~ other obligations cared not for movie night. But hey, he was here now!
