Rey's warehouse- Saturday

Saturday was training day this week, and Rey showed up early, deciding to see what happened when she tried to run the new course without telekinesis.

Long story short, today was finally the day she ended up in the quicksand.

She was now out of the quicksand, sitting on a crate and trying to clean off, and being generally annoyed about the whole situation. On the plus side, she'd gotten some amazing pictures of the woodchucks earlier.

"Hello," Anakin said, coming in and giving her a little wave.

"I hate this," Rey greeted him. "Hi."

"Which part do you hate?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"No telekinesis, the feeling like I'm feeling the world all wrong..."

It was gonna be a Weekend.

Anakin nodded. "If it's what happened several years ago--and Eleanor's behavior in my class gets me to think so--we've swapped powers with people who don't normally have them. I made amazing pancake art this morning, which is not as helpful as telekinesis."

"I think I could have taken good pictures of that pancake art," Rey nodded. "I know it's temporary, but it makes me want to sleep in until Monday."

Anakin gave her a sympathetic smile. "It's difficult to Jedi without all of your senses, isn't it?"

[thatwaslucky]

She nodded, frowning. "I don't use telekinesis a lot in my day to day, that's fine. I don't think I realized how much I actually read off of people until I couldn't anymore."

"It's very helpful, especially around here where people are seldom telling you what they're actually feeling."

"Yeah. And I don't think I've ever used it on purpose-" She could probably avoid certain issues if she did. "-but it's like walking around with part of me turned off."

Anakin nodded. "Your bad feeling alarm is off."

[thatwaslucky]

"Not exactly," she said slowly. "More like my bad feeling alarm for people. I hate losing bits and pieces like this."

But if she lost all of it she'd honestly be devastated at this point.

Anakin nodded. "But it's something that can happen to a Jedi. It's incredibly disorienting. Have you ever heard of an animal called the ysalamiri?"

Rey shook her head. "What is it?"

[sith_happened]

"It's an animal that can produce a Force-repelling bubble," Anakin said. "It cuts a Jedi off from the Force."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, I never want to see one of those," Rey said immediately.

Finally, an animal she didn't like!

"There was an entire species who was outside the Force as well," Anakin said, "but that was after I'd left."

[thatwaslucky]

"...How? If we're all connected in the Force then... how?"

She was so going to be up till three am reading her books.

[sith_happened]

"I have really no idea," Anakin admitted. "I'd ask Jaina--she's probably around now that she has no place to throw balls at me."

"Dunk tank?" Rey guessed after a pause.

[sith_happened]

"She comes every year," Anakin said. "It's a weird way to show love."

[thatwaslucky]

"I guess it's... good to have traditions?"

It was hilarious, Rey. Never got old.

Anakin laughed. "It's a strange tradition, but it's ours."

[thatwaslucky]

"Does she get you every time?" Rey wondered.

[sith_happened]

"Eventually, yes," Anakin said, grinning. "We tend to do a battle in telekinesis first."
