The Perk, Thursday Afternoon
There were spiders all over the place today. Which was awful, but Danny felt like putting up with the insect life in Hawaii had at least prepared him for some of this. Though there was one particularly aggressive spider just hanging out the doorway to the Perk, just taunting him.
It continued to build an almost comically large web, possibly out of spite. Who even knew with this place.
"I just want a coffee," Danny grumbled, trying to duck under the web to get inside without messing up his hair with cobwebs. It was a losing battle.

"A pot of tea, please," she said to the barista, then turned her head to look around to see who else was there.

"Jesus, you've got a--" Spider in hair. Horrifying on so many levels.

She picked the spider from her hair and held it in the palm of her hand.
"Did you know spiders eat moths? And moths eat butterflies? Where I come from we had only moths. Curious, isn't it?"
This wasn't quite true, but there were more webs than spiders in Allerdale Hall.

"Moths eat butterflies?"

She brushed the spider off her hand on to the floor.

Because that much was true. Hawaii, you were the worst.

He ducked, too. Of course, he was 6 foot 3, and ergo, had even more trouble with it. "Bloody hell," he muttered, swiping at his hair to clear out the cobwebs.

"Yeah, welcome to what I think is meant to be the Halloween spirit," Danny grumbled as he waited for his coffee. The baristas were having to shoo more spiders away from the pot.
Was it worth this? Possibly not.

"I'd say I can't complain, but that'd be a lie."
He could. BECAUSE THE DANCING PUMPKIN PEOPLE.

"I believe it is best to surrender to the spiders today."

She'd have to forgive him, but it had been several millennia.

She did remember his name, of course, not having been gone millennia, but wasn't bothered by another introduction. She smiled.
"I fear your hair will lose."
no subject
Even if he had to aggressively comb it later. "Nice to meet you again, miss Sharpe. How has the island been treating you?"

She was, in fact, walking into the Perk with several spiders crawling on her, snickering happily.
"GIVE ME YOUR PRECIOUS SPIDER BABIES, PERK DRONES! FOR I AM THE SPIDER QUEEN!"
no subject
What? She looked like a cobweb-magnet. If she was one, he was not above using it to his hair's advantage.
no subject
What? Weren't you glad to be counted as a drone, Lucifer?
no subject
... don't ask why the manic grin was still on his face. It had very little to do with approval.
