Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday
Lucille kept the pumpkins in the display, as well as the cobwebs left behind by the spiders. While most of the latter had disappeared, some of them had stayed in her window, which she found generous of the island. She worked on a few flower arrangements suitable for the holiday, but had decided to close early so she would have time to finish her costume for the evening. Hopefully Tisarwat would stop by early enough to give them some time to play the piano, but if not, she would at least offer tea.
A heavy scent hung around the orange lilies, but Lucille liked the almost black roses best. Perhaps she should take one home with her to wear in her hair tonight? But no, only a dead rose would be suitable for the undead, she decided.

Which made one of his first orders of business now that he was back sweeping into the flower shop to see about doing just that.
"Ah, Lucille-chan ♥! Now isn't this a pleasant surprise ♥!"
Even if he hadn't been gone for more than a week, he had never been very good with keeping up with news, no...

That seemed like an obvious reason, but then, this was Shunsui.

"We do," she said, gesturing further inside the shop. "Back here. Follow me."

Not that he hadn't over the course of his mission, naturally, but he much preferred flirting without all that other nonsense going on. Women were far more receptive to that sort of thing when their lives weren't in imminent danger...
He gave a pleased sort of sigh as he breezily followed.
"I do appreciate that this place always seems to have bonsai when I need one ♥," he said contentedly, "as well as an abundance of the loveliest helpers to show me the way ♥. And how have you been, my little swan? Shall we have some sake while we consider these lovely little trees ♥?"

"As for me, I am now the owner of this shop, after the previous one left the island. And yourself?"
no subject
Of which he had, of course, now poured expertly into the two small cups balanced in his large hands, offering them both out to her to choose, one perhaps slightly more full that the other.
"And how are you liking it so far? Shame about the last owner, though; I will rather miss her cat..."
So won't that be nice for Summer once he realized the cat was still here!
no subject
Sorry, Summer.
"I never thought I would own a flower shop," Lucille said. "I find I enjoy it."

"Ahhh," Shunsui beamed at the news, "perhaps I'll have to stop in and see her sometimes, then ♥. And it's good to hear that you're taking to it well, Lucille-chan. I say it.does seem to suit you, and I suppose I may have to consider purchasing more flowers from here on in ♥."

She took a sip of sake.

Nanao-chan VI had a really solid run, though!
"I am interested in perhaps putting in a special order for six more, though, that might be available by next Thursday morning, if I may. It's for my class ♥."
no subject
Considering what Shunsui had just said he might not be the best teacher for that.

This was not intended as criticism, and Lucille was quite sure Shunsui would be immune to it even if it had been.
no subject
Much to the chagrin of his...many critics.
"I could certainly extend a lesson to you beyond the classroom, Lucille-chan," he offered smoothly without missing a beat, "if you would be interested ♥."
no subject
It might be both useful and help her pass the time.

She took another sip of sake. "Less quiet than my home, of course, but more pleasant."
