Silver was in a fantastic mood when he came into work today. It didn't really improve his work ethic much but at least he was fairly cheerful while he was drinking rum and doing nothing.

He was there, happily drinking rum.

Rey had said she'd come to keep him company, so of course she showed up, taking her seat with a smile. "Hi again."

"Hi," he said, smiling. "You made it."

"Did you think I wouldn't?" she teased.

It was a mystery how her face didn't hurt from all the smiling over this weekend.

"Well you might have gotten very distracted by your work." Something that would never happen to Silver seeing as he barely did his job anyway.

"I still would have come," Rey told him. "And I don't think I got much done today anyway."

"Why, distracted by something?" he teased.

"Of course not, there's definitely not anything distracting here happening," Rey totally, totally lied.

Silver placed his hand over his chest like she had wounded him. "I guess I'm going to have to try harder to be more distracting."

Rey considered that, and said, "I'm actually not sure how you could be more distracting, but I'm also curious to see you try."

"I'll accept that challenge." If even he failed it would be fun to try. "You're pretty distracting yourself."

"I have definitely never been called that before," Rey said honestly. "I guess if I hit someone too hard..."

"I kind of like the idea of being the only one you're distracting," Silver decided. "And without hitting me too, that's also nice."

"Believe me when I say I don't want to be distracting anyone else," she told him, and while she said it lightly, she meant it.

...There was of course That Guy out there but that was not her fault, she didn't know how bad it was, and she wasn't actually thinking about him these days.

Silver smiled again. "That's a relief."

He didn't want to be distracting anybody else either. Some part of him would always care for Madi but he learned long ago to grab onto happiness when it presented itself.

"How early do you think we could sneak out of here without me getting fired?"

"I'm not sure. How strict are your bosses?" she asked.

"One is a vampire that I've seen in nothing but pink underwear," Silver said. "And the other is Satan."

"Aside from the pink underwear that actually means very little to me," Rey said.

"I'll admit it doesn't mean a whole lot to me either," Silver said. "So I'll risk it and leave whenever I want."

"Very daring of you," Rey teased, grinning.

"Well I happen to think you're worth it." Also he was pretty sure he'd have to set the bar on fire in order to lose this job.

"I'm not used to hearing that much, either," Rey admitted. The sentiment seemed to be implied more over the last year, in general. "I do like it."

"You'll probably be hearing it more often." At least if he had anything to say about it.

"I am so glad I texted you," she said.

Silver laughed. "I like to think we would have gotten there eventually no matter what."

"We were getting kind of, um..."

Was there a concise way to say she would have had to jump him earlier except they kept being in public?

"Blatant?" That was probably a good word to use.

"Blatant fits," Rey nodded. Once all the touching had started it was only a matter of time. "I was starting to get a lot of comments from people."

Which had actually started before the shirtless cowboy thing.

“Good ones?” If he were anywhere else he would have expected mostly bad ones but a lot of people here were pretty cool about the pirate thing.

It helped that Disney made pirates a lot less murder-y and family friendly.

"I think they were proud of me," Rey admitted.

That was definitely not what he expected. “Proud of you for being attracted to me?”

"I think more like they assumed something was going to happen before it did."

Like, months before.

“You know some rather astute people,” he said, sounding amused.

"Apparently," she laughed. "I won't be sorry to change my answer when they ask."

Throw some dangerous weapons.

Where Eric might be, looking attractive.
