Diaz & Ass., Monday [11/09].
Rosa was catching up on a few things with radio and one of her squirrel infomrants, and couldn't help being vaguely amused by the news on what the good old FPD was up to.
"All that?" she scoffed, mostly to herself although technically it could have been to the squirrel, but she'd sort of forgotten he was even there still. "Just to find a missing mask? God, I'm glad I got out of there in time to avoid wasting my time with that kind of crap..."
Then she turned her attention back to her computer and her current active case, which involved tracking down a recipe for that one specific kind of muffin that one of her Baltimore contacts really loved that they apparently stopped making at the Perk, which was clearly a much better use of her time, skills, and energy.
Diaz & Ass. is open!

Diaz & Ass. is open!

Honestly, Jessica did a lot of that. And somewhere in the haze of alcohol and thinking, Jessica made a decision which she actually remembered this morning. Remembering a conversation with McGarret last week, Jess headed over to a particular place of business to scope out the situation and see if might meet her goals.
First of all. There was the sign. Which Jess appreciated enough to smirk at before entering and taking a long look at the office before looking at the person working there.
Who honestly looked pretty badass for someone looking for a muffin recipe.
Jessica raised her chin as form of acknowledgement and greeting. "Hey."

"You need something?"

"And you thought to come..." Rosa quirked a dubious eyebrow, "...here?"
Did she mean D&A? Fandom Island? Fucking Maryland? Who knew. But, apparently, it was some kind of inaugural interview question at the moment.

For Jessica? It's the fact that Fandom had apparently put a call block on anyone contacting her unless she had them listed on her cell phone speed dial.
"So, I'm going to relocate. McGarret mentioned you over at the station so I thought I come over and see what Diaz & ASS were all about."

"And apparently," she said, "we're about being the butt of a joke that just won't quit. I'm going to warn you, especially coming from New York, if you're looking for excitement, you're not going to find it here. We probably collect more dust than we do clues; it's a pretty quiet town, except in the occasional bursts where it's not. Honestly, I mostly just started this place because things were getting a little too Good Ol' Boys Club over at the station."
And in the police field as a whole, but that was...definitely a whole thing.
"But there are worse places to have to fill in an Employment line on a form, I guess."

Would she actually check them? Probably not. Or maybe she would, for shits and giggles. She didn't know yet, she was fairly new this whole concept of having an Ass. around here that didn't just live upstairs.

She then thought of something and winced. "Right. Okay the last one on the list does hate my guts and might mention something about me throwing him through a door. Oh. And one of them is my adopted sister but she'll be 100% honest because she's a pain like that."
Note to self: Do not come up with a list of references after a bottle of bourbon.

"At least I won't be bored," she said, with something that could almost sound like approval if you stretched your ears a little bit. "I'll have to look into it, obviously, what kind of detective agency would we be if we didn't even investigate potential partners, but I can try to get back to you in a few days."
Not like she had anything else to do.
"Anything else I should know?"
NFB from here...
"Yeah. Two weeks ago I killed someone. His name was Kilgrave and he was an evil prick," she said. "He could control the minds of anyone but me. He was about to kidnap my sister and have about fifty other people beat themselves to death. I snapped his neck and was acquitted on any charges. The lawyer on the top of that list can verify that."
She took a deep breath and started looking around the room. Anywhere but directly at Rosa. "He was about to make a getaway before I caught him. He had a boat and he was going to come here to escape. I came here to see if he had been here before or had any backup plans to come after me. All I found was a bunch of drunk raccoons and panda that really likes cheese."
Re: NFB from here...
If it was true. But around here?
"Yeah," said Rosa, after making up for Jessica's lack of eye contact by giving her a steady, thoughtful look, "that panda's got some real issues.
"Think you can handle at least one day of desk jockeying a week?"

Re: NFB from here...
Rosa nodded.
"I'll keep in touch, Jones."
