Silver had avoided all the horse nonsense, which was probably for the best. Nobody wanted to see a three legged pony trying to get around. Even so he hoped this all ended soon because it was just a tad too ridiculous for him to deal with even as a bystander.

He was there, thanking his lucky stars he was normal.

"This is not fair."

Look who wasn't thanking any lucky stars herself.

"What's not?" He damn well knew what wasn't fair.

Rey clopped over. "You couldn't be a pony for one weekend?"

Silver was trying his best not to smile at both the way Rey looked and the clopping noises she made when she moved. He was failing.

"I'm already working with a disadvantage, I'd like to think the island is taking pity on me."

Good luck not smiling when she got up on her hind legs to put her front legs on the bartop because she couldn't sit.

"Still unfair. I don't have thumbs."

Okay now Silver couldn't help but laugh. "Sorry--I'm sorry. Did you want a drink...although I don't know how well you're doing with glasses."

"Better than you'd think but it's still embarrassing so I'll pass," she said.

Did you know ponies could still wrinkle their noses? They could.

"I'm sure it won't last for much longer," Silver said. "These things never do."

And that's how you know he had officially become part of the town, when he was saying stuff like that.

Yeah, she noticed that.

"You sound like a local," she told him. Didn't hate it.

"I adapt quickly," he said. "Thank god for that otherwise this weekend would have broken me. And I'm not even a horse."

Rey paused, thinking back. "This probably is the strangest thing to happen since you've been here. It's not the strangest it gets."

"Oh don't tell me that," Silver said. "I don't want it to be stranger than this."

Too bad, Silver. Too bad.

"I can let you live in peace with that till something happens," Rey told him.

Because something else weirder was totally going to happen.

"Is this your first time being a pony?" Silver asked.

"Yeah. I've been other things, but this is the first time I've ever had hooves," she said. "Hopefully it's the last."

"The lack of thumbs does seem terribly inconvenient," Silver said. "Does your telekinesis still work at least?"

"It does! All my powers are normal, enough so that I even tried running the course yesterday," Rey said, and paused. "I got stopped by the parts where you swing..."

But imagine how adorable and majestic she was doing those jumps!

"I can see where that part would be difficult," he said. "Good for you for training despite the whole...having hooves thing."

Silver would not have left his apartment all weekend.

"I was curious," Rey admitted. "And wasn't thinking about how the quicksand would be a bigger problem at this height."

"Well it's not something one often has to think about," Silver said. "At least you were able to get out on your own. That would have been hard to explain if someone had to pull you out of there."

"How hard would you have laughed if you'd gotten that phone call?" Rey asked, smiling.

"I wouldn't have laughed until I knew you were okay." Then he would have laughed a lot.

"That's a very smart answer and I appreciate it," Rey told him.

"I know what a lady likes to hear," he joked. "Even if she is currently a pony."

"I can't wait to have hands again," Rey said. "That's not a thing I expected to have to say."

"At least most of the town has that complaint," Silver said. "It's a bonding experience."

"Hopefully you're not feeling too left out of the bonding then," Rey teased.

"It is a bit lonely but I'll survive somehow," he joked.

"You'll survive easily, with opposable thumbs."

She wasn't getting over the lack of thumbs.

Go ahead, try to do it as a horse I dare you.

If you thought for a moment that Magnus wouldn't still give this a try as a pony, you'd be wrong, sir. Because there he was, managing to roll an 18 for that attack. While a pony.

"Magnus."

Where if Eric was a horse he'd probably still be a fairly good looking one.
