Covent Garden Flowers; Tuesday [11/17].

Were there always this many bonsai trees in the shop? Or was Astrid only just now noticing them because they'd worked on them for her Ma class a few weeks ago? She liked to think they were a recent abundance, but it could very well be a frequency illusion, the Baader-Meinhof effect, that once you take notice of something, you start seeing it everywhere, and now the presence of the bonsai would be even stronger as she filled her postcard box with sketches of bonsai shaped in ways that would probably take years for an actual bonsai to acquire, but, with her pencil, it would only take a a handful of minutes, an hour or maybe just half...

There were also some interesting new painted postcards in there, too, which could best best be described as Jackson Pollock-y abstract, from what would one day no-doubt be described as Astrid's 'pony phase,' where critics would speculate how the splatters and swatches of color almost seemed reminiscent of what a pony might create if it were to be given a paintbrush between its teeth and went to work....

Covent Garden is open!
