The Junkyard | Monday Morning
Faye's strength had never really been landings.
She'd come careening down towards the beautiful blue planet once she'd broken the atmosphere, throttling the Red Tail's controls and slowing down enough that she didn't actually crash into the vacant spot she saw in what...looked to be a junkyard, so much as just gracelessly thunk the ship down.
With a sigh and a stretch, she opened the door to exit, kicking out the several empty drink containers and snack bags she'd discarded during the journey as she hopped down out of the ship.
"Huh." Faye looked skyward, then around at her surroundings. "Well, it's definitely not Callisto." But she'd known that just from the sheer amount of water, and really, she'd been heading for Callisto just for a lack of anywhere better to go.
This...did not look like any place she'd ever seen before.
[open if you would like to talk to the person who just gracelessly landed.]

And it wasn't that she rushed over to see if anything had gone wrong so much as ambled over with idle curiosity to see what kind of weirdness had show up on the island today.
Seeing Faye exit the ship, Jessica wondered just how many aliens were on this island and why most of them looked human.
"New in town?" she asked/deadpanned as that seemed to be the question everyone asked Jessica whenever she walked into a room.

"What was your first clue?"
Probably the ship. And the getting out of the ship. And the...way the ship had probably taken a little damage on landing, fine.

Jessica barely shrugged in response. "Lucky guess?" she deadpanned. "You know where you are or did you just stumble on this gem of a place?"
no subject
"Well," she said, jutting a hip out to the side and sighing theatrically. "I was aiming for Callisto, but judging by the ocean, I'm guessing I overshot?"
Which was a nice, convoluted way of saying she didn't have a damn idea where she was.

"Yeah, I've never heard of Callisto before," Jessica said reaching into her bag and pulling out a bottle of very cheap booze. "Welcome to Fandom. You're probably going to need this."
She held out the bottle to Faye because the girl was probably going to need it before the week was over.

Faye's brow wrinkled in confusion, though she did reach out to take the bottle. Free stuff? Free booze, by the looks of it? Yes and yes, always.
"Fandom, huh?" she asked, crooking a little smile as she eyed the bottle. "Hey, thanks. What d'you guys do around here, on...Fandom?"
She thought that was the name of the whole planet, yep.

"That is going to take a much longer conversation and probably an explanation of someone who is smarter than me," she replied. "This place is a weird dimensional nexus thing. Don't ask me how it works. It just is. Some people get stuck here by accident. Some people just find it and stick around."
She held out her hand. "I'm Jessica."

The big thing she was worried about (and doing her best to hide how worried she was, about it) was the word stuck. She didn't really do...stuck. Or sticking around, for that matter.
But you know, one could always use new friends, especially new friends who showed up unprompted with booze, so Faye gamely shook the offered hand with a smile. "Faye. Do me a favor and cross those fingers that I don't end up one of the stuck ones, okay?"
no subject
“That’s what the booze is for,” Jessica replied evenly. “Don’t worry. This place has nice benefits even though it is pretty strange.”
She paused for a second as she realized something. “Wait. What’s the strangest thing you’ve experienced in your life so far?”
no subject
Faye pretended to think about it for a moment, then reached for an easy answer - it had only happened last week, after all.
"I was bitten on the leg by a venomous blob that turned out to be some food someone left in the refrigerator too long."
no subject
Jessica mulled on that for a moment before nodding. “Yeah. You should be fine here. This place can get pretty fucking weird.”

And you usually made the most cash off of them.

Wouldn't it be funny when she realized she didn't have a way to refuel?

Which is hard thing for Jessica to admit out loud.
"Don't tell anyone I said that."
