Devil's Nest | Monday Night
Initially, Annie had been pretty irritated to have to haul her snow boots and her big thick socks and her mittens out of the back of her closet already, because usually big snowstorms didn't hit until after Christmas, but at least it was pretty, and at least she had winter stuff.
More annoying still, though, was how she had to remove those mittens to blast three different...attacking candy canes in the snow on her way into work today, and it had actually been a little scary when one of them successfully snagged her by the ankle and attempted to drag her into a snowbank. It was weird enough to be blasting that much stuff, particularly in civilian clothes (particularly such unflattering civilian clothes), though it was also pretty good practice since they were fast little targets.
Annie was pretty proud of herself for overcoming these annoyances to still haul in the last inflatable reindeer, which she bustled into the back very quickly. She emerged, holding a finger up to her lips at Tiny in warning, and settled behind the bar to look up warm drink recipes. Maybe she could figure out some kind of boozy hot chocolate situation, because it wasn't going to be that long before she had to head back out into the stupidly deep snow.

Because of course it was a question of how many.

Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
Annie's powers had all kinds of winter uses, which was handy. And of course she was assuming he'd be closing down the bar with her. Obviously.

Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
Seriously, between how she'd been using them as flashlights and now as handwarmers, it was probably a good thing that Annie's hands were getting some actual, offensive use this week before she forgot how to do things besides cute tricks.

She could also cauterize a wound, but that would probably never come in handy around here, of course.

If Tiny told on her she was totally going to get her glitter cannon back just to shoot him.
Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
As in he sometimes had to break into places just to have a place to sleep because he refused help from any of the family.
"Now I use it for patrolling sometimes, like if I have a hunch of where some bad guys are gonna be."

Because that was pretty hot.
Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
Though that probably wasn't a huge worry anymore as long as she remembered to wear the new belt from Santa.

"I did. Threw a couple at the bad guys," Diego said. "And of course dad made sure we got press attention right after. Ben was covered in blood so he looked miserable in all the photos."
Re: Back Office [12/14]
Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
"Poor Ben," Annie sighed, sympathetic. "It's hard enough doing press right after something like that, but being covered in blood would make it so much worse. In my world, that would've probably been the only part they talked about. Reporters always ask me about, like, my costume and my hair rather than, like, how many people were saved."
Because her world was terrible.
Re: Back Office [12/14]
And meanwhile she'd just hide from Eric, who did not look like a festive fucking person and that was the point.

She kind of felt really bad for poor Vanya.
Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
He was a little jealous Vanya got to miss out on that piece of trauma that scarred Diego for life.

Though there were totally people who ripped each other off. Drummer Boy, Homelander and Soldier Boy both called and would like their aesthetics back.

Though there were several reasons she wasn't friends with Holy Mary, at least.

Re: Talk to Annie [12/14]
Diego was the only person she'd patrolled with in years, after all.

Though she did really like how they complemented each other that way - he was all sneaky and graceful and ninja-like, and she was a sparkly, distracting brawler. The perfect combination!
