Town Hall, Saturday Morning

Jesse had tracked down the blackboard.

"Okay," she said, making a few quick, sketchlike drawings. "So here's what we know. The school board bought a new weather machine last week. It's circling the island and sweeps by the school between noon and two o' clock."

She made a corresponding drawing.

"It's also malfunctioning. Obviously," she said. "So we need to take it out. Preferably above the preserve or above the water, not... anything important. Definitely not between noon and two o' clock."

She drew something else. "There's apparently deactivation codes?" she said, "But we haven't been able to find them. So that leaves us two options: either we hack into this thing somehow and do some... weird computer stuff to simulate those codes," yeah she had no idea, "or we just shoot this thing out of the sky at the right time. Which will be harder, because we can't see it. We just know roughly where it's going to be."

Beat.

"Any ideas?"

One more time.

Nina definitely was in better spirits today than she'd been yesterday--it probably had something to do with the fact that she had a winter coat and hat on today!

She was bouncing as she came in.

Nothing had tried to eat Stark this morning. Yet. He had seen some reindeer though, which had led to running faster than normal because even if these ones seemed to have less of a desire to eat him they didn't look at all friendly.

Sabine showed up with her helmet under her arm and fresh from a fight with a holly bush. She was kind of more annoyed about any scratches on her armor than anything else.

Someone's got to be able to take out a rogue weather machine, right?

Nina hesitated on just saying that, like, these days she was quite a good hacker in her own right.

"Is Barry any good at hacking???????????" she wondered, instead. "If that's not an option, does anyone have a gun with a range that far??????? I could attach a homing spell to the bullets if we've got the range!!!!!!!!!!"

"If there's an armed ship," Stark said. "It could get closer? But is there? I don't know. And would that work? Would depend on the weapons, I think." Spells were far outside his realm of expertise.

"We could borrow Bus Dean's ship!!!!!!!!!" Nina suggested brightly.

Sure, that would go well.

"Could we?" Stark did not think that was the wisest of plans. He'd rather not be quietly murdered by Anakin after avoiding death by Christmas for days. "Something to consider. Maybe."

"I can text him and see," she suggested. "Like, if we don't come up with any other plans????????"

"Take out the electronics?" Stark suggested after a moment. "Electromagnetic pulse? Or would it come crashing down then?" Probably best not to squash any island residents.

"I know how to make pulses like that," Shuri said. "All of the ships at home have them. And they will come crashing down, but there's a lot of water out there."

"But can we guarantee that it will hit the water????????" Nina mused.

"Maybe with explosives?" Shuri said, pointing to Sabine.

"Hit then zap or zap then hit?" Stark asked. "Just have to make sure nothing is landing on people."

If they took out some reindeer or snow angels he was fine with that. They'd started it.

"I have a lot of explosives," Sabine pointed out. "Like, a lot."

She got bored, okay?

"So if we make a pulse to drop the thing out of the sky, can you blow it up?" Shuri asked.

"And I can make it look pretty," Sabine nodded.

Please let her blow things up, she had been here for years and been very good.

"That's, like, super important!!!!!!!!" Nina added earnestly.

She meant it. Aesthetics mattered, okay?

Admire her blackboard work.

Actual fighty/blowy post will go up in a few hours!
