Atlas Gym, Monday (12/21)
Was it weird that Beau thought this week was kind of boring, after the way everything had been escalating for the past couple of weeks? Actually, yeah, it kind of was. She'd own that.
She had Nugget with her at the gym today; he'd spent most of the last week in the apartment because Beau was not going to explain to Jester that the dog Jester had entrusted her with got taken out by semi-evil candy (which, knowing Jester, would really just be insult to injury) or blinked out to the Feywild. Because she'd been reading up on blink dogs so as to do a better job of training Nugget, and as it turned out that the blinking into and then out of another dimension was largely a defensive instinct, which was going to go a long way toward training him out of randomly appearing in people's space and all.
And, she was beginning to realize, teaching a fey puppy how to recognize what was actually threatening instead of just weird was a tall, tall order around this place, even if said fey puppy was as intelligent as any average member of a sapient species. (Though that did help a lot.)
So yeah, Nugget was bounding around the gym today, clearly very happy to be able to run around again, while Beau continued to point out what might actually be cause for alarm, what was just cause for some serious side-eye, and what was so normal around the island that it wasn't even worth blinking (ha) at.
"Okay, so I know that person in the neon yellow leggings is frightening, you're totally justified there -- wait, can you even see color? I don't think that got covered in anything I read so far. Anyway. She's loud and annoying and that outfit is some kind of horror, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to kill anyone..."
[OOC: Gym/post open for the inevitable high-level SP. No, I am not watching the clip of that one scene from last week's episode for the millionth time. Nope. Noooooope.]

Nugget yipped and wagged his tail, looking up at her curiously.
"Technically, she's not really on the dangerous list," Beau told him with the pat on the head she was using as the 'not a threat' signal, "but if you want to blink out, that's totally cool."

Nugget looked like he couldn't decide whether this was worth blinking out or not.

Who might be uncrushable, for all Seivarden knew.

"Is that actual concern? From you?" she asked with an exaggerated look of shock.

Yes, she knew how hypocritical that was of her, or at least the persona she liked to project.
She shrugged. "Nugget would probably love playing with the cat though."

"So now you know me well enough to decide I'm in the habit of torturing animals."

Initially. Seivarden has seen enough kids to know there were things behind the attitude.

"I mean, that isn't really a goal of mine," Beau said as Nugget yipped and wagged his tail, hard.

She turned, and headed towards the other corner of the gym.

"No, buddy, I don't think biting her is a good idea. Like, at all," she said, scratched around his ears, and resumed attempting to get him a little more versed in the details of what was and wasn't worth possibly having to blink out to the Feywild.
