Diaz & Ass., Monday [01/18].
Rosa's goal that morning was to put together a bunch of files and documents regarding the missing bee case for...what's-her-face...baby Victorian intern...which took all of three seconds, because there were no files or documents, it was a bullshit case from an annoying client that she had no intention of ever actually solving because she was pretty sure there was no missing bee, despite what Bee Lady might believe.
No, make that all of a minute now, because, at one point, the phone rang, and, when Rosa answered it, all she got was a deep, modulated voice informing her that "The keeping of bees is like the direction of sunbeams" before hanging up.
So, there you go, Enola, your file now had a potential clue, or maybe just a black-and-yellow herring in the form of a conveniently topical prank call, because she slipped the quote in the folder with a shake of her head.
Well, the kid said she wanted experience.
A wild bee chase was probably better than nothing, right?
Diaz & Ass. is open!
[[ and a blanket SP warning on all my pups today because it just feels like it's gonna be One of Those Days already... ugh ]]

"Good day, Detective D," Enola said formally as she entered the office. "I'm ready to begin my tutelage."
In fact she had a backpack full of notebooks and these disposable pens that you could actually erase!
The modern world was so wonderful.
[Also slow play for me!]

Ugh . She was like a magnet to them, or something.
"It's Diaz," she offered, but she hoped Holmes had figured that out by now or else, oof. They had a lot of work to do. "Just Diaz. And great. Let's get started. How much did I tell you about the bee?"

Clearly it was Diaz’s loving nature that made the nerds flock to her.
“The only information you provided was that there was a bee and it was missing,” Enola said, pulling out a notebook that was labeled “Case of the Missing Bee
“However you did not provide any other details. Such as the species or if the bee had a name.”

"Perfect," said Rosa, because there really wasn't much more detail, or at least not much more detail that Rosa had bothered to consider important because none of it was important. "That means there's lot of work to do, so...plenty of experience, right? We do have this, though."
And that's when she handed over the noticeably thin manilla folder.
"The transcript's from a phone call that cam ein earlier today," she offered by way of explanation. "Might be related, might not be. But no stone left unturned, right? And here," she scribbled something down on a Post-It and handed that over, too, "is the info for the person who called in the case. I'm sure she'll be happy to tell you what she can. She's also a very well-known entity at the Trooper Station if you wanted to do a little work on her, too."
Because that would be hilarious.
"Like I think I said before," she added, "the case has gone mostly cold," because it was dumb, "but maybe some fresh eyes on it's all it needs."
Or at least eyes that would care, because the only other eyes around here definitely didn't.

This was going to end badly of course but gosh darn it she was going to give it a good solid try.
