Shunsui had, of course, been up since well before the break of dawn, to make it out to the preserve, to tend to his training, in the peace and quiet where he might not be disturbed by any salacious vices or distractions or extravagences like silly hats or brightly colored kimono, where he could dedicate himself to long, long hours of perfect his samurai craft, working tirelessly through his forms to be the best warrior he could be, to defend his kingdom and lord with diligence and honor.

Hours of practice. Undistracted. Undetered. Dedicated and intense.

And when that was over, what was left to do but settle into a spot, peaceful and serene, and focus on his meditation, to be at peace with the world around him and ruminate on all the hard work he had done and the good he might acheive protecting others with his blade.
