Turtle & Canary; Monday [02/15].
Soooo, yesterday had been pretty fucking great barring any unexpected sp jossing, anyway, maybe not exactly Summer's completely perfect idea of how she'd have liked thigns to go, but she wasn't honestly expecting things to be that kind of perfect, especially not with eventually dropping in a different milestone to contend with.
Dinner with the family this weekend. It was out there now. The plans were already in motion. Jerry was probably scouring the internet for vegetarian recipes right now as they spoke. There was no going back on it now.
Well, there was. But it would definitely require a very highly elaborate scheme and series of events that Summer was starting to toy with for a few ideas that would probably get even more elaborate the closer they got to Saturday. She just hoped that the timing worked out well, because if things turned out to be the inevitable disaster she was expecting them to be, then she could just throw herself fully into the school trip to avoid having to think about it too much.
In her distraction, she'd popped one of the toothpicks from a box that had been broken upon arrival, trying to decide if she wanted to send it back for a refund or just, like, give it to Astrid because she was pretty sure she could use it to make some art or something, and then started up a new podcast to listen to while she did her inventory and ordering. It seemed like it would be a good distraction from thinking, really, and she was right, that thing was sucking her right in to the point where she'd even forgotten about the toothpick until she caught her reflection in one of the cooler doors and stopped a moment to note how actually that looked pretty cool. She could totally be a toothpicker, actually...
Or maybe she was just focusing on something tangental to avoid thinking too much on something tangible.
