This evening, rather than be waiting for her class to show up at the tent, Nina was already up on the new scaffolding she'd ordered into being. What? Put it up normally? Psh, no, never going to happen when magic made that way easier.

Besides, it was pretty exciting that the walls were high enough to need scaffolding. Who could blame her for being up on it and not waiting for everyone?

"Goooooooooood eveeeeeeeeeeeeeniiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she announced, grinning down at her class. "Look at us, getting walls up so that they look like walls instead of just fences with aspirations!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She was bursting with pride about it all.

"Get geared up and get up here!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've got a castle to build!!!!!!!!!!!!! And starting now it's going to take a lot of climbing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

While bringing blocks up too! Nina had brought some up already (with magic) because she wasn't entirely a monster but, like, that wasn't going to last the whole class…

Everyone should just be glad the blocks weren't as heavy as they ought to be until they were stacked into place.

Nina doesn't really give lectures in this class which is kind of tragic.

Please don't hurt yourself with the blocks and the scaffolding! Though Nina is on hand to heal anything that might happen so, like...

Who is honestly pretty gleeful about the walls being walls thing.

Besides, it was helping knock her out of her sulk about VDay.

"Now it's times like this," Liam mused, "that I wouldn't mind being able to use telekinesis."

Nina giggled.

"It would make things easier," she allowed. "At least a bit!!!!!!!"

"Certainly less back and forth," Liam agreed.

Oh well. Maybe someday he'd figure out the secret to telekinesis. He apparently had the potential.

"It's still satisfying to see it all come together though, isn't it????????" she said, smiling as she looked at all of their work. "We're really making it happen, you know????????"

"It really is," Liam said, reaching over to sling one arm around her shoulders in a quick, casual hug. "I'm proud of you, you know."

The hug was wonderful but, like, she was still going to blink at him.

"For this????????" she asked, uncertainly.

"Mmmhmm," Liam confirmed. "You had an idea, and- you know a lot of people would just stop there, right? Just go 'oh, that'd be fun' and then never do anything about it?" But that was... not how Nina operated.

"I mean, like, there's a lot of things I think up and then they never happen," she admitted. "Like, I look into it and it's not feasible or there's just no time......"

But she did carry more ideas from conception to fulfillment than... a lot of people.

"I suppose," Liam admitted. "But this," he gestured with one hand at the castle-in-progress. "This wouldn't be happening without you."

She shifted, a little uneasy with the comment, even though it was the truth and she knew it.

"It's just a little castle," she said. "It's not like it's anything that, you know, matters in the long run??????? It's just for fun!!!!!!!!!!"

"'Just for fun' doesn't mean it doesn't matter," Liam pointed out. That was a lesson he'd struggled with for a long time, though, so he could understand her feelings there. "And as for the long run... I disagree. You're going to graduate and move on from this place and this'll still be here. I'll get to tell people who ask, 'Oh, that? My daughter came up with the idea, actually, and a few of us helped her build it.'"
