Duke was back at the front of the class. The list on the board had been mostly crossed out, leaving only the word "booze". He was sprawled in the teacher's chair with his feet on the desk and his flask in hand.

"Sorry I missed last week. I was . . . I don't know, probably being brainwashed by a nine year old girl." He sighed. "Right, so. Our whole 'be prepared for Fandom' thing is a whole lot of bull. There is no 'prepared'. Whatever we come up with will just get zapped away if the island feels like it. All we can do is just do our best to clean up afterwards."

He gestured broadly with his flask without sitting up.

"So. What do you do when the multiverse decides to dump on you? Anyone?"
