Luke's Diner, Saturday

Miguel came in today and didn't immediately head for the coffee pot. If he got any looks for that, he wasn't worried. He wasn't worried about much of anything; he was feeling pretty chill today.

He smiled and nodded at the staff and went to make the specials board.

Today's Specials
Chicken empanadas
Chili
Chocolate mousse

Maybe it was just that Rosa was out and about that Saturday, feeling the need to be social, and maybe it was just the conversations she'd had at the Perk earlier, especially with Faye, but she was feeling there was only one way to make this good day even better, and that was stopping by at the diner.

"Hey," she said, leaning on the counter with a grin. "Anything good today?"

"Coffee's a good start."

HOW MUCH COFFEE WERE YOU GOING TO DRINK TODAY, ROSA? Apparently, a lot. Which was only going to make her current bout of cheerfulness all the more ultra-fueled, no doubt.

"Good day, then?"

Obviously, but hearing all about someone else's good day was exactly the sort of thing Rosa was alll about today.

"It's been great," Rosa said, laughing with the simple sincerity in the answer, and practically beaming at him in adoration. "And it's about to get even better now. Feels like a good day for a ride, too. Wanna hit the road when you're done? Just see where it takes us?"

"Burger," Rosa decided, grinning over at him as she leaned her chin into her palm, her voice with the dreamy far-away tone of someone who'd been looking forward to this for the better part of the day and with the confidence that even with her high expectations, it would somehow manage to exceed them. "Extra bacon. Lots of fries. Classic."

"Cheddar," Rosa confirmed with a nod, her own smile not going anywhere any time soon, either. How could it? Everything was just so...great. "And, sure, chili fries. Why not, right? Anna and I had a good run this morning, I more than earned it."

"We did yoga in the park, too," Rosa shared, and that was nothing new, they really did have a whole routine for a lot of mornings, but there was just a certain outpouring of appreciation for those things today. "Ran into Kitty at the Perk; she's worried about her house catching on fire, but I told her, if that's going to happen, now's a good time, because we've got someone at the fire station now!"

And who didn't love a silver lining like that? Especially not when one's usual animosity toward firefighters was mysterious absent at the moment!

"Also made a new friend," which was absolutely something Rosa was always this stoked about, though her smirk now took on a particularly playful bend. "Faye. Your co-teacher. We shared a few stories about your shared vacation experience."

Which in retrospect was actually kind of hilarious and fun, right?

Okay, Rosa definitely didn't need a weird little crystal on her stomach to actually appreciate Miguel webbing someone out of bed, especially when that person wasn't her. But that little crystal on her stomach was going to make her much more open to admitting it with no small amount of praise.

"That's amazing and clever and a great use of your skills," she informed him, sounding a little awed about it. "She's great, though. Definitely got a kick out of all your lobsters," which Rosa clearly loved right now, too!, "and we might go shooting together one of these days."

"It was a great way to meet new people," said Rosa, who was well known for her social tendencies during those gatherings, too. "Weather's getting nicer. You might be onto something with that."

Which meant her smile was now particularly adoring as she added, "But there's really no surprise there."
