It was totally normal to smile like that at the Troopers! Steve was just in a really, really good mood today, okay, and everyone was looking good.

Yes, even through the helmets.

He had no idea why Ralph was kicking a trash can right now and was very interested in not finding out.

The Trooper Station was open and feeling flirty!

...just not Ralph.

Ralph would be okay tomorrow at least. That was the hope.

"Morning, babe," Danny said, depositing a green smoothie on Steve's desk and pressing a kiss to Steve's cheek that was full on 'old married couple' to a brand new degree.

Again. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow. For everyone.

Steve grinned at him like that was a completely normal thing for Danny to do. "Morning, Danno!"

Totally normal! Ignore how Ralph was trying to flip as desk now.

"Something going on here?" Danny asked with a confused, but still warm smile.

"Ralph's having some issues today," Steve said. "I didn't ask."

Danny hummed, leaning his hip against the edge of Steve's desk as he watched as Ralph was restrained before another desk could be damaged. Not that he was too upset over his own desk. Too happy today!

"Next time I'll bring him a smoothie too."

Daniel, you harlot.

"I thought I was special," Steve pouted, poking Danny in the hip as coworkers often do.

"You're very special," Danny promised him with a pat on the cheek. Also normal coworker things.

"Well, thank you, Daniel," Steve said, leaning into his hand.

They were just living that fanfiction cliche as Danny rubbed his cheek with his thumb for that. "Maybe that's why he's so angry."

"Because no one thinks he's special? That's very sad for him," Steve said, closing his eyes and all but purring at the touch.

Super professional. Truly.

The most professional. This was what happened when you gave them a push to actually flirt, folks.

"Poor guy," Danny agreed, not even feeling weird about how touch-starved Steve was here.

"He should find a girl," Steve said. "Or a guy. Or something."

"You can suggest that to him," Danny suggested, only pulling away so he could drink his coffee. There was definitely a phone number on there. Well. On both their drinks, actually.

Which would be flattering if weird later on.

Steve tilted his head, frowning at the phone number. "Who's making a move on you, Danno?"

He wasn't jealous! Why would you think that?

Don't be silly! Steve never got jealous.

"Apparently we're memorable at the Perk," Danny replied, shaking his head. It was always nice to feel wanted.

Was that possibly half the draw for him and Amber? Yes. Definitely.

"We're memorable," Steve repeated. "But as a unit."

Danny shrugged, but considered it while he drank his coffee. "Pretty sure we get that in Hawaii too."

"I didn't get phone numbers when I picked up your coffee in Hawai'i," Steve said.

Danny kinda preened at getting them here then. Because it was just nice to hear.

"Handsome as you are, maybe you just weren't their type."

"Why wouldn't I be their type?" Steve asked. "I'm everyone's type!"

"Oh yeah, there's that modesty that lures them all in so much," he teased dryly.

Worked on Danny, at least. Which wasn't fair.

Steve grinned. "It's hard to be modest when you have all of this to share."

Tomorrow, Danny would want to smother himself with a pillow for the very interested look he gave Steve over his coffee at that.

"Yeah, I can see."

Steve would definitely be in mortified, mortified agreement, but right now he was returning that look, adding in a soft smile.

"Can you."

Was this... was this the Smooth Dog treatment? Because for the very first time, Danny could kinda see it.

"Mmhmm," Danny replied, taking a seat on the edge of Steve's desk.
