Was it wrong to just get a delivery of paint to work? Well, whatever, Sabine had had to special order a specific color and if it was just going to be used here anyway... She'd get back to the mural once she finished her actual work.

Should her boss be a little concerned about this? Probably.

"What is it supposed to be?" Din asked, kid on his hip because stairs were hard on him.

"What's what supposed to be?" Sabine asked, like she didn't know.

Which was why he tilted his head in a sort of 'child, please' gesture that didn't need facial expressions, thank you very much.

Sabine smirked just a little at that.

"It's going to be a very relaxing scene inspired by my time in Japan," she told him. "Perfect for meditation."

"The kid will probably try to help." Possibly by knocking over paint cans and eating her lunch, but still.

"I wouldn't dream of stifling his creativity," Sabine said, and looked to the kid. "Do you want to help?"

Grogu blinked owlishly at her before glancing back up at Din. Who shrugged at him. "He had a... strange weekend."

"What happened?" she asked.

[thedadalorian]

"He went from clingy to angry depending on the day." Which. With a kid who could choke people with his mind, was concerning.

"Even he got hit with that? That's unfair," Sabine said, frowning.

"It happened to other people too?" He needed to get out more, didn't he?

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"You really should check out radio sometime," Sabine said wryly. "I spent an entire day slamming doors."

Considering her access to weapons and bombs, that was good.

Yeah, that would have ended badly in another world.

"Seems a bit nosy, doesn't it?"

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Definitely nosy. But it's also a good way to know when the island's gone insane," Sabine pointed out.

"Had my hands a bit full for that." Literally sometimes!

"It's a helpful habit to get into," she told him. "Also a good way to tell if anything's about to invade."

Which happened less than the island going insane, but still happened.

"...invade." He was going to shoot so many things.

"...Did no one tell you about this?"

He had a kid, people!

"Not really, no," he said, sounding deeply put out.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

Sabine let out a long, deep sigh.

"Every few months or so, we might have an invasion of something. It might be something stupid, like snow monsters you defeat by dancing- don't ask- or it might be something that's actively trying to kill you," she said. "A few months ago the Christmas decorations came to life and tried to murder everybody and then people had to take out giant bears."

Sadly she was clearly not lying.

"I'm making this place more defensible then." Of course he'd take the most pragmatic approach to this news.

"We are full of weapons," she pointed out. "Which makes me curious what you'd do."

Mandalorian, and all.

"Blast shields for the windows."

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"I like that," Sabine said.

[thedadalorian]

"You know anyone for that?" It was another attempt at extending a hand here.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"I can look into it," she said thoughtfully. "I've kind of heard about a couple guys who could come up with something but it might be more than you're looking for."

Meaning the blast windows might shoot back or something.

"I could also maybe get some imported from a version of our galaxy if you want them whole instead of improved from what's here."

"Wouldn't draw any attention here?" Din asked, looking down at the kid in a way he hoped got the point across.

"Shouldn't. I know how to get around things," she assured him.

[thedadalorian]

"I'll get the credits together for it," he said with a nod. Maybe find a job in case what he had wasn't enough.

Also, it was half in Calamari Flan, so...
