There was no Devil at the Devil's Nest tonight. Were you surprised? Because Octavia wasn't. Much like she hadn't been surprised by the continued radio silence of no new texts on her phone since yesterday.

There were other emotions brought on by both of those things, of course, but she didn't need to focus on those. And someone needed to make sure there was some piano music playing at the club on a Tuesday evening, even in Lucifer's absence, and guess that person was Octavia. Even if the best she could do was fiddling with the playlist until she found something appropriate. And sure, maybe listening to that made it harder for her to ignore her not-surprise, but...

Maybe this was penance. Being here, behind the bar, when it wasn't even supposed to be her shift. Trying and failing to jot down anything for her therapy homework while also doing her best not to look at Tiny too much.

He really should've worn something with a less flattering cut.
