JGoB, Sunday morning
Stark had not been to the bakery in over a week now. Last week had been last week, after all. Buying treats for his not-quite-children today seemed like an excellent reason to return and they had asked nicely. Repeatedly, but nicely. Not that a demand for baked goods would really have stopped him. He was always an indulgent temporary parent and both children were well aware of that fact.
"Choose something now," he told them, "we'll get something for later as well."
Was a cookie as big as their head a good choice for Réaltín's breakfast? Why not. It was only one breakfast. Ziya's double chocolate muffin was hardly an improvement but Stark was hardly going to pass up an opportunity to spoil these two extremely improbable (possibly impossible) children.
Dubious breakfast choices made, the trio found a table and sat to fortify themselves with sugar and discuss plans for the rest of the day.
[SUPER OPEN of course should you desire baked goods or an opportunity to interact with an alien and/or his blue daughter or non-blue child]

They did offer more variety, though, and it was a rather difficult decision that would probably take Zephyr some time. But, in the meantime, she could at least offer a smile and a wave of her plate-mail glove at the other kids in the shop and the presumed parents with them, half-wondering if any of them were half her siblings.
It felt a little weird, she had to admit, that she seemed to actually be the only one this year!

Réaltín offered a chocolatey smile of their own and nodded.
Stark just smiled fondly at them both.

Were they possibly also her children?
Seriously, she usually seemed to have a ton of them.
(A ton, in this case, was two others at most, but Zephyr was never one to be shy about hyperbole).

"I do know Amaya," Stark confirmed. "But not you, yet. I'm Stark."
no subject
She paused, for dramatic effect, and lowered her voice in a whisper that would make her father truly proud for her excellent presentation, "Zephyr!"
She flashed her best winning smile before adding, "It's nice to meet you, Stark! And what are your names?" she asked the littel ones. "So that when Mother is impressed by what treats I bring home, I may give proper credit where credit is truly due!"
no subject
"My name is Ziya," Ziya said. "Hello, Zephyr."
no subject
"Well met, Réaltín! Well met, Ziya! I've had many," not that many Zephyr, but go on, "kinda-siblings-but-not-really here before as well! Never a blue one, though I did have one that was green!"
no subject
"I met five not-my-siblings yesterday," Réaltín declared. "Ziya from Dad and then Dad had three more with him when we found him and there was Nina."
no subject
"That is an awful lot in one go," she had to admit. "I think you both may steadily beat me out in no time! I may have to suggest to Mother that she step up her game before next time!"
Because that would be a fun conversation that Amaya would absolutely love to have with her more-persistent-than-a-rash-future-daughter-with-a-guy-she-didn't-even-know.
no subject
"You should," Réaltín said, nodding, because they were young enough that the implications of that went right over their head. "It was lots of kids but it was fun." Not just because they'd watched Dad's brain shortcircuit a little bit. "And we got frap'chinos."

She was so picking one up before returning to the shop.
It was going to be such a productive day!
"You two practically deserve a medal for your most outstanding recommendations! I think I may just have to make you one! Best Suggestors in All The Land of Fandom!"
no subject
"They are good," Ziya said. "We don't have them at home." Space was lacking in the finer things in life. Like chocolate and whipped cream and fancy blended drinks from coffee shops.
"Can you make real medals?"
no subject
"I can!" Zephyr assured her with an eager, proud grin. "I'm a blacksmith, too, just like my mother! Until I'm old enough to participate in the Tournament of Hopeful Knights, anyway, and become a true Knight of Daventry! Then the blacksmithing will have to take a back seat!"
no subject
"I don't know any knights or blacksmiths," Ziya said. There wasn't much call for either onboard a Leviathan. "But that sounds exciting."

Vatalija came inside looking for breakfast (the coffee shop had seemed not as excited to see her after that very small fire yesterday).

because it's more fun to say Muppet than Creature!This...child...was not one of those friends. Though she did seem familiar in an unfamiliar sort of way.
His own children waved chocolatey hands at the newcomer.

"Would you like some?" Ziya asked, because she knew Stark well enough to know he'd provide chocolate to just about anyone given the opportunity to do so.
no subject
Hannibal had raised her to be exceedingly polite.
no subject
The politeness was quite nice. He appreciated that. Everything else about her was slightly (or not-so-slightly) unnerving.

Both children, at the same time, responded "cupcakes!"
"I suspect cupcakes. Though they didn't ask for them for breakfast."
"Cupcakes are better for dinner," Réaltín informed him. "You said."
That did seem like something he might say.
no subject
It would probably not spontaneously combust?
no subject
"Of course," he said.
"I'll get it," Réaltín volunteered, already running to the counter. "Our new friend needs a cupcake! What's your name?"

But then, he had two highly improbable children here with him right now. Was this one that much more unlikely? (Yes. She was. And Ziya's mother was a plant!)
"Oh. Would...would you like to join us? While you eat?"
no subject
"I would, thank you," Vatalija said, immediately tipping an empty chair into a different group, making them drop all their coffee cakes.
At least nothing caught fire? Yet?
no subject
"Be careful," Ziya admonished her. Ziya, of course, didn't have the right frame of reference to have her brain slightly broken by Vatalija's existence.
Neither did Réaltín who returned then with one chocolate cupcake (not currently aflame).
no subject
"Thank you!" she said with that same little creepy smile.
no subject
Stark was just going to keep an eye on all three of the children for now. Just in case something were to happen. It seemed wise.
no subject
"So," Vatalija said to Ziya. "You're blue! I know blue friends!"
Sam Eagle would not consider them friends.
no subject
"Do you know any Delvians?"
Sam Eagle would likely not consider anyone at this table a friend. Everyone here was far too weird.
