Fandom Fire Station, Friday
Travis had managed not to end up with any random kids this weekend -- which was good, since that definitely would have set off a pretty spectacular wave of grief missing Michael. And after last week, he was doing his best not to have random sex, anyway, so he hadn't noticed anything particularly odd going on this week, either.
So he was puttering about the firehouse, as he did most days. This time he managed to find one of those moveable letter signs to hang up out front, and was spending way too much time trying to think of what to make it say.

Which was promptly going to be sent to Noctis.
Who would very swiftly deem Prompto a nerd.
Like it was news.

Travis raised his hand in a wave. “Hey man, how’s it going?”
no subject
"Oh, hey, man," Prompto grinned a little, lifting his hand in a wave back. "...Travis, right? Firefighter guy?"
His head bobbed toward the sign. "Your work?" he guessed.
Hey, he wouldn't put it past this place to have a self-scribing sign somewhere. Now that he thought about it, actually, he was a little shocked there wasn't...

Travis. No.

He knew a thing or two about hair care over here. One didn't just wake up and have their hair naturally not look like a chocobo butt.
"Ohmygods," he then snorted, as if now realizing they were seriously having a conversation about the island's hair care routine, but he added, "I am so referring to when this place is doing weird shit as it's bad hair days now."

So help them if in a few weeks, it turns out the island.really was just some dormant giant Astral like the Archaean this whole time...

“It really is.” Travis let it hang a moment longer, then grabbed for a change of subject. “So! How’ve you been?”
no subject
Well, except for the whole big fat prom disaster...Promptovsjofted a little, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Things are...kinda quiet back home, so I've been....I was helping Ignis with his class today, that's why....How about you? You get hit with any of the craziness from last weekend?"
Because, hoo boy, he knew that one was a doozy.

Some things it didn’t do as a grown adult to discuss casually with minors.

Answered a lot of things, and was also way harsh on his ego.
"Nineteen..."
His brows furrowed a little as he felt compelled to shoot back, "How old are you?"
Which obviously had nothing to do with potential necessary censorship, because it was clearly older, but now he just wondered by how much.

“36.” Travis shook his head. “So....maybe we won’t talk about last week.”

"I was thinking more about just the kid part of it all, actually," Prompto said, thinking it was a good thing they were at the fire station with how much his face was burning right now, wondering who would actually just casually ask about all the rest of it in the first place.

"You didn't even know about the kid part?"
Then he shook her head a little as of to clear it, rubbing the back of his neck a little.
"Yeah. No one told me about it until it happened, either. It happens after prom sometimes, I guess," at least that's when it had happened for him both times, "but these kids from possible futures just....show up. Kind of fitting that they'd do it after a week like last week, too..."

“Well,” he said after awhile. “I didn’t got to the prom.”
