The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

"Tiny, what on Earth is that racket?"

Lucifer stormed into the club right around opening time, barged past Tiny, and pushed his way into the DJ area. "Eiffel 65?! What are we, a mid-90s European dance club? Are we expecting a mob full of track suit wearing hooligans any time so--"

As was only right, Tiny tuned him out, and continued writing the specials down on the board.

Tiny's there, and a little smug his distraction gambit worked.

Once Lucifer's back at the piano, he's playing a bit of Bach just to make a point.

Jessica walked into the bar and just glared. Not at anyone in particular. Possibly just at the speaker playing that blue song.

Seriously?

At the piano, at the bar, or after he finally relents and switches to something contemporary on said piano.

"Who's junk do I have to rip off for that ba do bye blue bullshit?" she asked grumpily.

"Tiny's," Lucifer supplied immediately (and crankily).

"I know you're against this, but I vote for a temporary return of the axe throwing range," Jessica slowly turning her gaze towards Tiny. "Just in a different location."

Lucifer sighed. "Now, let's not resort to desperate measures," he said. "Making his life miserable will suffice."

What about all the nameless DJ's that Eric has eaten? Was that a sufficient level of miserable?

"Someone throwing an axe at me would make me pretty miserable," Jessica pointed out.

Lucifer did not want Eric eating any more DJs, thank you.

"Yes, but it might also make you dead, and good help is hard to come by these days," he said.

"I'm sure there's other people on the island other Tiny and Tino who can serve drinks," Jessica pointed out. "There's probably a Tony, Toni with an I or Toby who could do the job."

"Yes," Lucifer said, "But I don't really want Tiny's blood all over the carpet."

"Fine. I won't hurt Tiny," Jessica complained and waved her glass at the very bartender she was threatening to maim a moment before. "I need a refill."

At which point there was a dirty look from Tiny.

"Oh, please. I wasn't going to do it. Now if you were playing country music..."

"Please, if he'd done that, he would already be dead," Lucifer said gravely.

"Well it's nice to know this place has some standards," Jessica noted as Tiny handed over the drink complete with a scowl. "And yeah, I was talking to you. Jerk."

Still, Jessica left a nice tip. Mostly so Tiny wouldn't do something gross to her drinks.

"You know what you did," Lucifer informed Tiny. "Go stand in the corner."

Tiny rolled his eyes.

"Did you see that?" Jessica said pointing at the eye-rolling. "Really. How rude."

Jessica knows rude when she sees it.

"Honestly, I don't know how you put up with him."

"He's on Eric's payroll and I'm not entirely sure he doesn't have dirt on the vampire," Lucifer said, watching Tiny go.

"... What kind of dirt can you blackmail a vampire with?" Jessica asked, feeling confused.

"Vampires are still humans," Lucifer said, "Just... deader ones. So anything you can blackmail a human with, I assume."

"Somehow I think being in Fandom and being a vampire reduces the area of that Venn diagram," Jessica noted with some amusement.

"True, but it's not non-existent," Lucifer said. He shook his head. "How have you been, miss Jones?"

Ask Eric if he's ever worn a track suit.
